Some parents I know will squish things like grapes and blueberries before giving them to their baby so that they can get a grip on it with their hands and nascent teeth/gums. Might be something to consider, unless you enjoy those 30 seconds.

My dog's never met a hamster but he met a frog even smaller than Biggs on our walk the other day and he just sniffed the little fella so I think he would be friends with Biggs

The squirrels in my backyard always take one bite of the tomatoes and toss the rest. I don't really mind sharing but I wish they'd finish it or pass the rest to their comrades lea-why
