The other night I finally got to combine a break in the clouds that kept covering the western skyline with me actually having my camera on me (I'd seen it last weekend at a friends place but didn't have my camera there - definitely fainter now but was still just visible to the naked eye).

It's reportedly 'dead' now, which is to say that it's started to break up. So this is the final time anybody will ever see it, which is weird to think about since the last time anyone saw it was about 180,000 years ago.

that's a long time ago in human terms and yet there were humans and someone probably saw it. I kinda feel a connection to that distant someone, a long ago ancestor.

That's cool. ๐Ÿ˜Š
