Summary

House Republicans are considering $5.7 trillion in federal spending cuts over 10 years, including reductions to Medicaid, food assistance, and clean energy subsidies, according to a Politico report.

Proposed Medicaid changes, like ending Affordable Care Act expansions and introducing block grants, could leave millions uninsured.

Food aid cuts could impact tens of millions, while reduced clean energy subsidies risk job losses.

Democrats strongly oppose the proposals, citing harm to families and job sectors, while GOP leaders face internal challenges passing such measures with a narrow House majority.

Republicans war against the poor is the only thing that matters to them. How christlike.

Nothing will meaningfully improve until the rich fear for their lives

Damn those pesky democrats for doing this to us! /s

Why? We pay for Medicaid. It’s not like this is from the general fund. So, what they want to do is steal that money you paid for Medicaid and pay for their other bullshit priorities like mass deportation or more tax cuts for rich people.

Big theft from the American Public on GOPs plans*

Did something already happen with him that makes you think this would happen? I haven't seen anything that negative about him since he was elected so I'd really appreciate you saying your rationale.

Ah yes. Denying me food and medical coverage will clearly help with my disability.

Make sure to give that money to the ultra wealthy as a bonus for destroying the planet

At this point I can only say "if each of us take a few with us before we go the world might end up better some day."

[–] [email protected] 17 points 7 hours ago

Rest assured, they are also planning tax cuts.

The "Your Parents Have Gotten Old Enough, Haven't They?" Act.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

This is for Medicaid not Medicare.

  • Medicaid = covers poor people
  • Medicare = covers old people

So this is the "How can we fuck poor people even harder" act.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Most old people are also poor, checkmate!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 hours ago

And people on disability have Medicare and Medicaid so fuck them too

[–] [email protected] 11 points 7 hours ago

I always get those mixed up.
