Never thought to try it that way Ive been pretty satisfied with how much this slaps with just the fish oil
Ya, it slapped the appetite right outta my mouth haha
I would eat this. I like to mix in frozen vegetables though. I had steel cut oatmeal with canned fish and frozen vegetables for breakfast!
Those 'mediterranean' sardines are really good for this they are packed in olives and peppers and it goes really good with about 1 cup of cooked rice.
The king oscar Mediterranean sardines are the only sardines ive had that are delicious, its 4 dollars for a can tho but I have a five finger discount.
Never heard anyone eat steel oats with canned fish tbh
Oh yeah KO is where it's at. the King Oscar Timy Tots are also incredible, best sardines I have ever had!
I cook the oats for one hour on medium low, just a simmer. In the beginning I add a ton of veggie stock, frozen mixed veggies, garlic, onion, fish sauce, braggs and canned fish, Check in on them every 20 minutes and stir and add more stock as needed.
After 40 minutes it's good but at 60 it has the consistency of risotto and it's my favorite thing ever.
this one has canned herring and a little anchovy.
I'm trying to cut meat out and i'm working on a soy curl version but this is hard to give up it's the last meat i eat.
