Explainer for non scifi fans
The captain of the ship usually has their own phrase when they want the ship to go fast. "Engage!", "Make it so", "Punch It" and "Warp Me!" are all examples.
You dont need to "get scifi" to have one. Just imagine your sitting in a captains chair, what is your catchphrase to make the ship go fast?
I grew up in the country and with 00's pop culture. So mine would probably be "Lets fuckin' GOOOOO!" which is bogan as shit but I stand by it.

Last day for me, going to finish up cleaning the factory and some of the equipment. The dough rollers and mixers need detailing, boring but necessary.
The zukes are making pollen now. Yesterday there was a tiny black native bee rooting around in there covered in pollen and some male flowers I snipped for the fridge. Today thereโs one female flower open and 3 more males so I used a cotton bud to pollinate then snipped those to save as well.
Iโm going through some shit emotionally but have no idea how to handle it so Iโm just kind of doing practical things while trying to process or let it settle :(
Currently 31ยฐ outside, and 27.7ยฐ inside. I set myself up for failure because I went to sleep with my window open and it was both 25 inside and outside by the time I woke up
I have to go back to the old place today to vacuum and grab my cleaning supplies and such. After that, it'll probably be about 30ยฐ inside. I've got some ice blocks in the freezer (but don't currently have an ice cube tray), so I'm gonna find a way to suspend those behind the high velocity fan to try and get some cooling happening. Or maybe I could put them in a big bowl with some water and that might be a bit more efficient
Gotta hand the keys back after I finish up today. Then my move will be finalized. Spooky. Unfortunately my parcel hasn't moved from Dandenong South yet, so I do find it unlikely that it arrives today. Hopefully tomorrow.
I was just reading about bushfires, and I still don't really get what an ignition source could be, besides humans and lightning.
When black Saturday happened, from where I was living i could see an entire side of a mountain on fire. It was unreal.

I didn't save the pfeffenusse recipe I used last time and I don't think this one is as good - the other ones were a bit softer and spread, these ones are hard round balls. I realised too late that I emailed someone the recipe last time, so have managed to find it for next time at least.
You did not ask but this is my pfeffenusse recipe if ya ever need. Iโve tried many and itโs the best Iโve found ๐

Ingredients
1 ยผ cup flour
ยฝ teaspoon baking soda
ยฝ teaspoon salt
3-4 teaspoons gingerbread spice (from gewurzhaus)
ยผ teaspoon white pepper
ยผ cup almond meal
ยฝ cup brown sugar
1/3 cup honey
5 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons heave cream
1 large egg
2ยฝ cups powdered sugar
3-4 tablespoons hot water
Method Step 1.
In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, gingerbread spice, white pepper and almond meal. Set aside.
Step 2. Combine the brown sugar, honey, butter and cream in a medium saucepan and heat, stirring frequently, until melted and the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Stir in the flour mixture. Once incorporated stir in the egg until thoroughly combined. The dough will have a nice glossy sheen. It will be very sticky.
Step 3. Turn the mixture out onto some plastic wrap and wrap the dough tightly. Refrigerate overnight or for up to two days.
Step 4. Preheat the oven to 350หC. Remove the dough from the plastic wrap and immediately roll it into two strands, each about 2cm thick. Slice the rolls into 3cm rounds and roll each into a ball. Work quickly while the dough is still chilled.
Step 5. Place the cookie balls on a lined baking tray and bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let them cool completely.
Step 6. To make glaze, combine the powdered sugar and water until smooth. Less water will result in a thicker & whiter glaze. Dip each cookie in the glaze, letting the excess drip off, and place them on a wire rack and let them sit until the glaze is fully hardened.
