Anarchism is a social movement that seeks liberation from oppressive systems of control including but not limited to the state, capitalism, racism, sexism, speciesism, and religion. Anarchists advocate a self-managed, classless, stateless society without borders, bosses, or rulers where everyone takes collective responsibility for the health and prosperity of themselves and the environment.

Prince Pyotr Alexeyevich Kropotkin was born in 1842 and breathed his last in 1921. Kropotkin was a Russian noble. He was educated for army and at the age of twenty he became a military officer in Siberia.

Kropotkin’s great interest in science developed from his military training which he received to get a job. This moulded his life in future. He had a scientific mind and devoted his time and energy to the study of books on science.

As a military officer in Siberia Kropotkin got ample opportunity for geographical survey and expedition. Thus his shift from military service to geographical survey and expeditions enriched the subject profoundly. He contributed many articles to different journals.

Peter Kropotkin was a man of different mentality and attitude. His stay in military service could not satisfy his academic and intellectual requirements and desires and after serving several years he relinquished the job, and entered the University of St. Petersburg in 1867. His vast knowledge in geography brought for him the post of secretary of Geographical Society.

Even this vital administrative post could not detain him for long time. He moved to radical political movements. In 1872, Peter Kropotkin joined the International Workingmen’s Association. Later on he was deeply involved in subversive and anarchical activities. This led him to imprisonment in 1874.

He escaped from prison in 1876 and went to England. The England of the second half of eighteenth century was the centre of revolutionary activities, although she never experienced any revolution.

He also travelled to Switzerland and Paris. While in Paris he was again arrested by the French government in 1883. Released from prison in 1886 he went to England and settled there. While in exile, Kropotkin gave lectures and published widely on anarchism and geography. He returned to Russia after the Russian Revolution in 1917 but was disappointed by the Bolshevik state. The rest of his life was spent without political activity.

Peter Kropotkin was an evolutionist anarchist. But his evolutionism was more scientific than that of his predecessors. He wrote several books on anarchism such as ‘The Place of Anarchy in Socialist Evolution (1886), The Conquest of Bread (1888), Its Philosophy and Ideal (1896)’, ‘The State – Its Part in History (1898)’ and ‘Modern Science and Anarchism (1903)’. His deep interest in science, particularly biology and anthropology, opened before him new and enchanting vistas of knowledge and all these inspired him to study biological science with added interest.

Am I wrong to think that all the western media people deserve to be barbara-pit wall how-compelling-flipped minecraft redacted-1redacted-2 ?

All they do is defend genocide, call for bombing every single country that doesn't bow to the anglo-burn, show class solidarity with the bourgeois, and lie

I'm likely moving from somewhere with 0 orgs to somewhere that has just DSA, but this specific chapter has a book club and they've read Lenin, Rosa Luxemburg, and Rashid Khalidi (One Hundred Year's War on Palestine). They've done a lot of pro Palestine protesting and have set up encampments, have some ongoing mutual aid projects, work with labor unions and housing groups. They actually sound pretty cool and it'll be very nice to touch grass. I imagine the main things we'll disagree on will be like China, but tbh we rarely have any opportunity to affect anything with regard to policy anyway so it probably doesn't matter on the daily.

lol they’re hiking, backpacking, and climbing. Like these might be 3 of the most popular activities right now.

Gotta post “This is what they took from you!!” And it’s like axe throwing, drinking beer, and endlessly scrolling social media.

People will fear monger about unions with “they prevented X from getting fired even though they were ARRESTED and CHARGED with a crime”. It’s very reasonable for a union to make sure you don’t lose your job if there isn’t a guilty verdict. The police generally should not have the power to ruin your life.

So many people book vacation over Christmas and the summer here that work grinds to a halt and you just kinda chill. One of my coworkers always books vacation right before Christmas season and either spring or fall. Absolute genius move. Easy to get it approved and you get Christmas and summer de facto off lmao. You just gotta get confident in constantly saying “I am waiting on X”. Honestly really respect it and might start doing it in the future.

Gotta say I was really disappointed when I sat down to read Conquest of Bread. The first three or four chapters were great, but then it got extremely handwavy and I was kind of shocked at how unserious it was.

It kind of rattled my opinion of anarchists tbh. I don't really mean to be sectarian or w/e (the anarchists in my city have by far the best praxis and every time I organize with them I'm filled with hope - also anarchists are way hotter than any other tendency IME), but was so shocked that this was the book people hold up as the anarchism book.

Tbh I had the same experience with Murray Bookchin. The only anarchist theorist I've read that I really think is great is graeber and I genuinely think he was a great thinker and writer.

hexbear reaction to the adjuster, both when he inititally adjusted the CEO's claim and now, kinda indicate to me that the majority of people are Bad At Propaganda even if they have otherwise good political opinions

Yeah, who cares what the guy believed or who he was ( I mean, yeah, its sad he got caught and sucks (probably, still not convinced its him and there's no fuckery))

everyone in the world saw him slay a CEO in the streets, and everyone cheered, and everyone got to see all the weird freaks who weren't happy that everyone else was happy, and stuff like that happening gets people thinking, its not often Ben Shapiro tells his audience to fuck off for liking this (not that he did so directly, but you get what I mean)

Its no revolutionary moment, but it will do a lot to raise consciousness through the collective experience we all partook in of celebrating his murder, and can be used for great rhetoric if nothing else

All the design degrees and A/B testing in the world will never outperform a drop down menu from 1998 and the accompanying 2000 page manual.

I’m enjoying seeing chud dipshits complaining that Witcher 4 is woke because woman protagonist. I just love it when people complain “now the Witcher has gone woke.” I saw similar complaints with 3, saying they’d given in to woke (probably still using SJW back then) when compared to 1. And of course people complaining about the Witcher show’s race blind casting (I also don’t like the show but that’s just because every clip I’ve seen from it makes it look poorly designed, produced, acted, and written). But if you read the books Sapkowski is not subtle about his feminist worldview. He’ll basically have characters address the reader and say “women should have access to abortion and contraceptives. No one should ever beremovedd. Look, over there, a woman of equal athletic prowess to her male peers.” The lodge of sorceresses are all manipulative schemers. But the sorcerers are all worse. The big bad is literally a sorcerer who decides to run a eugenics program on women he’s captured and imprisoned and he is killed with prejudice for it. One of his first short stories is a dark feminist retelling of the original Sleeping Beauty folktale. I’m not even saying his portrayal of women is flawless (Geralt is clearly, usually, a stand-in for Sapkowski’s view. Also nearly every woman he meets really wants to fuck him) but I would say one of the biggest themes of the Witcher books are that men and women should be equals, that male violence against woman is a horror, that women are kept from the tools they need to resist that violence and oppression by patriarchal systems of control, and that women should seize these systems and use them against their oppressors.

yes I'm obviously biased but also there's a pretty huge fucking difference between an indie game that has 1-3 people working on it from their home(s) and an "indie game" that has 20+ people working out of an office with corporate/producer sponsorship and a considerable (or event existent) marketing budget and I think the language should reflect that difference

Nowhere near ready to try that raven pattern I made lol, so for now Ive set up a pretty simple pattern. Its a variation on the wave pattern I did earlier, with several combined together to make a branching pattern that sort of looks like vines. Also i wanted something in green since thats a color I don't use much. Oh and its completely reversible on the back too, something you dont see a lot which is cool.

Front Fully reversed back

While making the warp I almost perfectly hit the end of my white spool right as I finished pulling the last of the threads off. Pretty neat.
