CEOs should be scared. Especially extra ghoulish industries like this.

Make them feel like they need security.

[-] Allonzee@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Make them feel like they need security.

You mean some kind of safetynet to make sure they're protected if something unforseen happens to them?

What a novel concept! Maybe we should create an economic equivalent for everybody in society...

[-] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

Yeah I don't know the details of this murder, but I do want these types to be extra paranoid. I want them to live in fear of the choices they make

[-] engelsaxons@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

The security guards they need --> blob-sleep

[-] propter_hog@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

I mean, capitalism preaches the necessity of winners and losers. The owners demand there be millions upon millions of losers so they can win largely enough to buy pet mega yachts for their primary mega yachts.

Guess he lost.

Welcome to the free market baby.

Oh I'm sorry, does that only apply to the innumerable members of our society dying of exposure and ~~police~~ capital defense force brutality in your local gutter for the crime of not generating enough value for the shareholders in the "wealthiest nation on Earth?"

[-] tehfishman@lemmy.world 44 points 1 year ago

He probably bled out waiting for insurance to approve the expenditure for the gauze.

[-] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 42 points 1 year ago

No one who is in a position to determine the life and death of millions should ever feel "safe" from the people they have the power to harm.

French Royalty learned that the hard way. Maybe it's time to remind people again.

[-] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 26 points 1 year ago

Hope gun man gets away. Fuck the first article I read of how great he was and how touch the lives of so many. Just forgot to mention it was touching them by allowing people to die and suffer. I am with you fucking billionaires and rich CEO should be scared and shitting their pants.

The kind of wholesome news we need in these trying times.

  • Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was fatally shot on Wednesday morning in a targeted attack outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel.
  • Thompson was in Manhattan for UnitedHealthcare’s 2024 investor conference when he was killed.
  • The New York Police Department reported that the suspect fled the scene and remains at large; no arrests have been made.

Thompson was in Manhattan for UnitedHealthcare’s 2024 investor conference

LOL

He sure as fuck wasn't there for the "help people access affordable, reliable, high quality healthcare conference".

[-] whithom@discuss.online 13 points 1 year ago

Hopefully it wasn’t just a mugging

[-] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 36 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The cops said he waited in the freezing cold in one spot for ten minutes before taking the shot and fleeing down an alley to a bike he had waiting. This was 100% premeditated.

In unrelated news, I have an erection that will probably last longer than 4 hours.

[-] P00ptart@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I'd say see your doctor but uhhhh

As I said on other posts about this: Remember that jury nullification exists. If you're on the jury for the shooter, or someone like him, you can just say not guilty and there's nothing they can do to you. The court can't tell you that you gave the "wrong" verdict.

Just don't tell them you're going to nullify, because they'll remove you from the jury.

Think it's time for Biden to redeem both himself and the institution of the Presidential Pardon.

[-] seahorse@midwest.social 13 points 1 year ago

Keep reporting this post, libs. I'm getting a blowjob by a robot powered by angry libs reporting cool and based things about killing CEOs on the internet and I'm about to bust!

[-] Shizrak@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 year ago

Wait, wait, so the right wingers also want the evil CEOs to be destroyed, it's not just the lefties???

The fuck are we fighting about, then?

No war but class war.

[-] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 year ago

"Libs" is not a epithet that indicates the speaker is right wing.

[-] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 6 points 1 year ago

The right wingers want to destroy the evil government and be the CEOs. The lefties want to destroy the evil CEOs and be the government.

[-] Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Can I get a robot like that for uhhhh.... friend?

[-] propter_hog@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

1 report = 1 stroke

I'm reporting it right now to add to your stroke count, comrade

Another ~~billionaire~~ forty three millionaire down, too many still to go.

[-] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Reports say he was worth $43 million. He was $957 million short of his first billion.

If he was a Mario enemy, he'd be that first goomba.

As big a bad guy as the CEO of a massive health insurance company is; as much harm as they impose on us all, they are just little fish, and we are plankton. It's the whales we need to be worried about.

I offer Brian my most shallow of thoughts and prayers, and my heartfelt condolences to the families and individuals that have been brought to ruin by his unchecked greed and corruption.

Get fucked, Brian.

[-] riodoro1@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

The casings had „deny”, „defend” and „depose” written on them.

I sure hope all of those leeches are going to be scared

[-] Badeendje@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago
