Huh, usually I skipped david sirota episodes because he's fucking boring and I don't give a shit about horserace politics, but now it looks like I've got the best reason yet.

Rest In Power, Michael Brooks.
They have had some great guest spots the past month or two. This is utter shit, but is not standard. Honestly I am shocked Felix agreed to let this happen given how he is still PISSED at the Bernie staffers and regularly calls them incompetent. No excuse for having Sirota on the pod in general, 2020 is over
Eyup Lovely was on recently and that episode was fantastic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOo23B7tACk

From a Reddit thread:
[Felix] Coming out of nowhere like the Kool aid man and basically making Sirota admit everything he had said for the past hour was worthless
Is that? Felix Biederman with a Marxist critique and a steel chair?
What does this refer to?
[I'm not going to listen to the EP]
Felix is quiet for the vast majority of the episode, and then at the end he asks a few questions along the lines of “Okay but why is corruption and violence here worse than what the US has always been doing abroad” which Sirota had no answer to and completely crumbled under the pressure and then goes “Anyways I gotta bounce”
Listen to literally the last 7.5 minutes.
Getting money out of politics is bad for the Palestinians actually.
This house stands with BDS (Boycott David Sirotta)
the best way to help Palestine is campaign finance reform so that in fifty or sixty years we can defeat AIPAC
Sounds like we're on the same timeline as the Axis of Resistance tbh.
Even just revoked charitable status from the JNF. Cutting off financial pressure from groups like AIPAC and CUFI needs to be in the toolbox.
Gunna' listen and hear how bad it is. Will decide whether Menaker and/or Felix need to get added to my List.
I think Felix can at least escape the list, bro stayed quiet for like an hour and then came in to get Sirota to admit everything he said was pointless lmfao
Fuck me, was Sirota a boring bitch. He tried to keep implying it wasn't a moral judgment, but used synonyms like calling it more dystopian for the US gov't to harm its own citizens over foreigners. At least Felix pushed back on that a little.
It was so funny “It’s not that it’s worse, it’s just [synonym for worse]”
they probably would have had him on even with matt around but at least matt had redeeming qualities
I have no idea why they had him on and it wasn't a good idea, but I do think you're being a little too harsh on Will and Felix. They're very much anti-zionists and have had numerous activists on the pod to talk about Palestine. In fact, they still talk about it when most popular podcasts now talk about it less. I think Will in particular has moved further left since the show began especially post 2020 election.
yeah I'm not frustrated with Will because I think he agrees with Sirota, it's mostly the absence of Matt plus me holding onto the remnants of a grudge from 2020. I give Will plenty of credit for the stuff he's said on Palestine
Fair enough!
