It's my irl bday today.

To celebrate I'm going to attack more jasmine. Then dins with the fam (w/ bro / SIL oh no). P's are heading off early to Qld tm morning so just doing Indian takeaway. They have a nice dining room so it seems silly to go out. 5 of us and the local Indian takeaway joint does a good deal for 4 for $99. Bro and SIL are getting half portions.

Meeting to decide my future with my current workplace in 12 minutes, send me loads of positive vibes! I just need to not cry!

Edit: Good news is that I still have a job. I just need to be… a little less shit at it.

Little one bought home her fathers day gift which was a 'all about her dad' poster and she has successfully made me sound like I'm an alcoholic.

Which is super impressive because I don't even drink alcohol, lol.

There is something blackly hilarious about how many vegans are insisting they should be able to feed a cat vegan diets if they really really want to. (Blowup in outoftheloop)

[-] [email protected] 12 points 9 months ago

Those people need to own rabbits. Or preferably no animals at all because they lack any sort of clue.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

And if you disagree with them on the viability of vegan diets and cats you're 'emotionally invested in them being wrong'

Just...dude. Don't own a fucking cat. Millions do it.

It's like they don't care about the fact that cats are obligate carnivores.

Edit: in fact, they don't even know what 'obligate carnivore' means.

There's slews of 'em going 'but supplements and this single study that mostly looked at dogs said it was ok!!'

Like....jesus. They're trying to force an animal to go against its nature to suit their personal preferences and they do not see the hypocrisy. Get a fucking parrot you twonks

My dog loves cucumber. But goes crazy for big meaty bones. Lettuce and celery result in a dog equivalent of a death stare. I’m sure he would throw them back at me if he could πŸ˜‚

Um, we're having TWO Thursdays this week? Does that mean 2 paydays????? Please please let this be true. Or is this a fiendish plot to prevent our Friday overindulgences?

Meant to be another after work drinks put on tonight but I am too knackered for twice in a row. This place is going to turn me into more of alcoholic than I already am

I have done everything to not have to buy disposable vapes, but the run around and scams with the doctors and pharmacies is an absolute joke.

First you have to pay 90ish bucks for a script, which only allows you to use it at the chemist they are linked to. So every doctor has basically started their own little chemist to dispense the products.

And so if they happen to run out of stock, we'll, you need to pay for another script so you can access the product at another pharmacy/store.

Meanwhile, I've seen more cigarette smokers in the last few weeks, than I've seen in years. And that's not hyperbole.

Everyone is buying disposables, because the system that the government set up is an absolute sham.

So now I'm risking buying stuff from overseas that might get seized at border control, because the disposables are really fucking bad for you. They affect your breathing in a negative way almost instantly.

I've tried the patches, the inhaler, even the medicine. It didn't work for me, because it's really hard to quit something you've been taking for over 20 years on a daily basis.

Well done federal government.

I've also noticed this, as a smoker, that there are waaaaay more people smoking than previously. Young people too, when before it was just older guys usually (and the two old ladies outside the massage and tarot reading joint πŸ˜‚)

Biscuits done.

Tray of shortbread biscuits

The chilling time before rolling out was a bit too long I think, the dough was a bit too hard initially. The embossed roller worked fairly well, but I could probably use some practice to get it a bit more even. I also played around with a bunch of different cutters so have a variety of biscuit shapes and sizes - I'll pick the nicest looking to take to work tomorrow and the rest will be snacks for me.

I'm also taking advantage of the oven being hot to make pizza for dinner.

Can hear all kinds of things banging and flapping in the wind. Sounds like someone's gonna lose a bit of shed roof if this keeps up.

Operation sort shit is going well. I have been getting rid of stuff and now have empty gaps and nothing that needs to go into them, which as a previously over-cluttered person (aka recovering hoarder) is not something I am used to experiencing. I'm doing lots of labeling today, as well as attaching a bunch of little stick-on drawers to the bottom of some of my shelves to hold smaller bits of stationery and sewing supplies. I really should do an op shop run too, the collection of stuff to go is getting quite large.

How can a fence builder get it so wrong? Our front fence failed footing and final inspection - the posts are higher than the plan, and the concrete pads don’t go deep enough into the holes. We’re at a loss…

I managed to sleep well after feeling like crapola yesterday night, and crucially, got out of bed at 7:30 instead of lolling about... got to work early to sit down and eat a proper breakfast 🍽

Today's wordle was mean, I had to give up and use a solver.

Alright, time to crack on. The sun outside is delightful but bom says more wind tonight... and over the weekend.... meh.

Alas sleep was not had - I was finally drifting off when Zooks hopped up for snuggles and Feed Me, Bitch demands.
I'm doing the zombie shuffle at the moment so I'll just take it easy today and try and get a nap in before tonight's social thing.
