That's exactly why Fox News was created in the first place: literally by a member of the Nixon Administration, as a countermeasure against the media reporting the truth during future Watergate-type Republican scandals.

Yup! As another user pointed out, it's exactly why fox news even exists. Their prime time opinion shows are almost literally the two minutes hate they just don't have a single Goldstein, they have a Goldstein of the week/month.
Every night they sing lullabies of "hate the liberal. Hate the left. Hate hate hate. Be angry." They're like the opposite of the Daily Show, instead of laughter they use anger.

As the only ones who would ever think they held anything of value would be themselves, one could only reasonably conclude that this was a self-inflicted event intended to draw attention and sympathy— the vampiric feed of Trump.

A man broke into and burglarized a Trump campaign office in suburban Washington, D.C., on Sunday, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said Monday. Police published photos of a man, his face visible, walking around the office and appearing to stuff items into a backpack. Police said they were notified of a break-in at about 9 p.m. Sunday. “It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a statement. “We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind.”
