Not a very diverse group are they?

[–] [email protected] 47 points 3 months ago

Some of them have hair, others don't. Quite diverse

Just the token light colored jacket guy every friend group needs

He's also the 1 dark skinned person in the group, so they're obviously not racist. They even have 2 women, so they're not sexist!

i don't make the rules

My colleagues did by sneaking it into an unrelated piece of legislation, but I'm no snitch.

On their way to not tip and verbally abuse food service workers after church

He said he was checking out his future plane. Probably seeing if the furniture is his type.

There's gotta be a term for this kind of group... Like murder of ravens, or flock of seagulls. A chud of fascist pricks here to assert control over women for psychotic reasons.

A group of children.

Vance like 'omw to steal your couch'

Creepy fucking weirdos

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

I have an Ashley reclining couch that I love. It's super comfy and is perfectly molded to cradle my ass.

But it's brown, so Vance might deport it instead? Or maybe because it's so suave and sensual, it's "one of the good ones?"

This looks like the bizarro world version of Buckaroo Banzai.

That works for me! Could be worse. They could be after our baseball bats or something.

Speaking of weird, what's with that outfit from the dude in the orange tie?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 months ago

That's Scott. He microwaves fish for lunch in the office.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

He's the token dark skinned friend. Gotta make sure his outfit is unique so people notice him and don't think you're racist.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

For a second I thought Dr. Phil was in this pic.

Forgive the ignorance, but are regular OBGYN appointments a thing in the US? From the media I’ve consumed it appears so. I know people with actual gynaecological issues like endometriosis, and even they find the idea of regular checkups without a cause weird.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 months ago

Generally starting around 25 you're encouraged to get annual checkups. They check for cervical cancer and do a quick breast exam and then send you on your way. It's also a time to go over any irregularities of the past year and to discuss birth control and the like.

Some people also see gynecologists as their regular doctor, going to them for general health checkups.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

The US used to have such prevalent hpv rates that annual Pap smears for everyone with a cervix was a better call than testing for hpv. Even today you have to specifically request an hpv test when getting an sti test. The hpv vaccine seems to be changing that, but speaking as someone who had a breakthrough case (fortunately it was a strain known to be low risk for cancer) I still encourage people to not rely solely on it, but also to definitely get the vaccine.

The other reason is that for a long time the gyno was a lot of women’s only regular healthcare visit and it’s still not rare for them to be the most trusted physician in a woman’s life.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

My health insurance gives me a discount if I perform a set of preventative-maintenance tasks. They want me to get a pap smear every 3 years, so I guess that's the standard "how often to see a gyno if you have no health concerns regarding gyno issues" schedule.

Edit: I also have a regular doctor I'm meant to see every year.
