instead of bickering over why people are at the queer event and not a workers event

I see a lot of people in the thread interpreting OPs statements this way, but that just doesn't seem like what they're saying at all. They didn't say anything negative about queer events, and they're not asking why people are at them, or implying that those events should be less popular. They're asking why workers rights events aren't even more popular, considering their relevance to the vast majority of the population.

You can’t just will your emotional reactions to manifest in different ways

You kinda can, it just takes a lot of effort. I had a really stressful upbringing, and so anxiety began to manifest as keen focus pretty much by necessity.

I distinguish between "go out" and "go [some specific place]". The first one implies just leaving home to be elsewhere, the second implies going someplace specific for a specific purpose.

I like going places, particular places with particular people for particular activities. I have many interests and enjoy exploring them (although all my cool stuff related to those interests is at my house anyway).

I don't like "going out", arbitrary places with arbitrary people for no particular reason. My time is limited and I have many interests, if I have free time I want to spend it intentionally.

Me too, but I don't really play a lot of video games, so I could list every game I've ever played pretty quickly.

He not only nailed it so hard no one else can play the role, he nailed it so hard he became synonymous with the role.

Alcoholic beverages are as old as civilization itself.

Some people theorize that alcohol was the cause of civilization; that we settled down and developed agriculture to have a reliable source of grain to make archaic "beer".

The thing you have to realize is that some words change meaning over time. If you check a dictionary from the time, you'll find that back then "regulated" meant... oh, looks like it meant the exact same thing it means today. Huh, looks like it's meant the same thing since it was taken from Latin. Fancy that.

If you're cooking for one or two, it's definitely faster. Both because it's literally a convection oven, and because it's small and you don't have to wait for a whole oven to heat up.

Claiming victim when they were the attacker

How do you think they would respond to the idea that some women might do this?

How often does that line happen? I can definitely see "What's your favorite song/album?", that's just making conversation based on a common interest. And it can be kinda disappointing if you thought you were gonna get to talk about a band you like, but the person just liked the design and hasn't even heard them.

But "Name 5 songs"? I thought that just happened in memes.

To be fair they lived 5ft away, it may as well have been one big apartment. And one of them was a chef.

I've got an appx 12' x 24' space between my single story house and tall metal barn garage. The roof of the house slopes toward the space.

I want to convert it into a greenhouse so I can grow veggies without having to chase off critters. Ideally I should be able to install gutters that drain to a rain barrel.

I'm hoping some of you fine folks have resources and recommendations for this kind of project.

Looks innocuous enough at first glance right? Let's zoom in on the problem:

These don't go together. If the semicircle on the left is correct, then this is showing moon phases, and the symbol on the right should be of a gibbous moon:

If the cookie-with-a-bite-taken-out in the right is correct, then this is showing an eclipse, and the symbol on the left should be of a 50% partial eclipse:

It drives me crazy every time I look at it.

Bambu X1C Purge and Prime (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 2 years ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

I'm considering pulling the trigger on an X1C but the waste is a huge turn-off. I know there are options for purging to infill or a sacrificial object, but last I heard there's still a considerable amount of purge/prime. Can someone who's played with the settings tell me honestly how much progress has been made in reducing waste?

Still pretty new to local LLMs, and there's been a lot of development since I dipped my toe in. Suffice to say I'm fairly swamped and looking for guidance to the right model for my use

I want to feed the model sourcebooks, so I can ask it game mechanic questions and it will respond with reasonable accuracy (including page references). I tried this with privateGPT a month or two back, and it kinda worked but it was slow and wonky. It seems like things are a bit cleaner now

Crunch Sweet Spot (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 2 years ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Let's kick off some activity here with a question:

How much crunch do you, personally, like in your games?

Ultra Lite? Lite? Basic Set? Every book you can get your hands on?

Light on combat, heavy on skills? Vice-versa? Light overall with some aspects way more fleshed-out? Heavy overall with some aspects way more simplified? Are there specific mechanics you like to take full advantage of? Mechanics you like to gloss over?

No wrong answers, let's just get some discussion going
