I found out that a bunch of years old CS boxes I had increased a shit ton in price so I sold it to buy some games. I bought Deltarune and I want to play that, but right now I'm playing 9 Kings and Nubby's Number Factory. 9 Kings in special is addicting as hell.

Also played the new Risk of Rain 2 DLC yesterday for the first time and it was super fun.

Recently I also played ENA's Dream BBQ and I absolutely loved it, can't wait to see the next chapters.

Fair enough. I'll update my original comment.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

Nah, you're excusing his behavior. He could have cursed in Swedish instead of using a racially charged word. The fact that he knew the word, knew it was bad, it came to his mind and used it is too much to be a "heated" moment.

And even if it was, there's literally no excuses. His content is in English and his main audience is USians.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Sure thing. These people were both on his YouTube comments and on his subreddit. Tho I remember it being worse at the subreddit.

The issue is not that Nazis will watch his content, that's outside of anyone's control, but that his content funnels people into right-wing ideologies, which attracts these types of people.

The video "The PewDiePipeline" that I linked talks about this better than I could.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

Yes because in this case it's relevant. You are right that being mentioned by a bad person is not necessarily proof of anything. But like I said, in this case it is connected to the content and community that PewDiePie has.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago

If you can't see how he hosting Shapiro and Musk, using right wing memes and rethoric, endorsing a fascist author, and allowing Nazis and other right-wingers to fester in his community is directly related with why that POS shooter mentioned him, that is precisely the problem.

That's a common excuse used to defend the guy over and over again like it is just some isolated incident and not connected to the content he produces and the community he fosters.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I used to watch him years ago. He has a very young and impressionable audience which he constantly feeds memes with right-wing rethoric.

To list a few of the stuff I remember:

  • He said the N word hard R;
  • He paid people on Fiverr to show a sign saying "Death to all Jews" or something like that, where he laughed at the reveal. He said it was to prove a point that you could do harmful shit with that type of online service, but all it ended up doing was getting the guys banned from the platform and served to signal to Nazis that he would host such content;
  • He allowed right-wingers to fester in his community, 4chan specially really liked the guy;
  • He hosted both Ben Shapiro and Elon Musk in his channel for a "meme review";
  • He has stated multiple times that his favorite author is Mishima, a Japanese fascist, not only in the past, but also in the last year at least;
  • He used to stream on some crypto bullshit site, which I don't remember the name;
  • His whole campaign against the Indian conglomerate T-Series lead not only to racist comments but also to a very racist music video he did;
  • The Christchurch shooter mentioned him in a video. And while being mentioned by a shooter doesn't necessarily mean he's an issue, in this case it's extremely relevant since it's pretty clear that is a byproduct of his politics and the community he has.

There's probably much more that I either don't remember or don't know about, but this is more than enough to understand where he stands politically and the harm he causes.

I also recommend the video: The PewDiePipeline.

I really liked the first movie, but I'm conflicted about this one. I really liked the first half, how Paul was defiant of the whole Messiah thing and seemed to genuinely want to help the Fremen in their struggle against the empire for freedom. I was genuinely surprised because I didn't expect that from the story.

Then he takes the baby worm juice, and now he's fully embracing the whole religious figure thing, is taking center stage in the Fremen struggle and is even using his family/house colonialist crest as a flag.

I thought it was gonna deconstruct the whole white savior trope, but then it ends reinforcing it? That's weird.

To be fair tho, he's being pragmatic since he can now see whole timelines of possible futures and is doing what he needs to assure it reaches the timeline where they are successful.

Well, at least I'm interested to see where it goes. Showing them resisting against the Harkonnen colonizer fucks was great tho lol.

Everything I learn about Nazimongold is against my will.

Also not surprising that SomeZionistGamers is still so casually interacting with him in this post

Since what, a week now I guess, this comm "Buy European" has been spamming posts on my All feed. A few are actual useful posts like lists of alternatives to US companies and services, but the majority I just ignore.

And now it is coming to this point? Like, really? This is infuriating, fuck Europe.

Not only that but most comments calling the post out are either barely upvoted or heavily downvoted, while it's pretty clear that most people commenting genuinely thinks this is a good idea.

And the cherry on top are the comments upset at the "tankies".

How the fuck can these crackers look at a post wanting Europe to become a superpower again knowing damn well the history of Europe, and also knowing how the far right is currently rising to power there yet again, then not only agree with it, but also just decide to antagonize the communists instead of the fascists rising to power right now?

I'm not one to go calling people fascists, but fuck if my hitler particles detector is not going off the charts right now.

Sorry for venting out, this is the type of shit that makes my blood boil.

I'm sorry for ranting, but I need to let the steam off.

The amount of redditors defending Elon Musk is beyond pissing me off. This piece of shit literally sieg hailed and people are defending him like crazy, some going even to the length of saying it isn't a nazi salute because the arm angle is wrong............................................

The thread that finally pissed me off to this point is this one in r/linux_gaming.

The sheer amount of libs that think there shouldn't be politics in a fucking Linux subreddit is beyond baffling, and the amount of people just defending Musk just pisses me off to no end. At this point I'm done with that shit ass platform. I'll delete my account after I bookmark some of the actual useful threads I saved over the years. FUCKING HELL.

Zuck finally decided to show his true face. I didn't think other social media would follow the Elon path, but here we are.

At this point I'm convinced decentralized social media is the only hope to scape this shit.

ROMs Thread (lemmygrad.ml)
submitted 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

I didn't know we had a community for piracy. I made a comment on Hexbear with some links to safely download ROMs, so I thought that it was a good idea to make a post here now that I found this comm.

For general emulation:

Emulation General Wiki is the best place to know what emulators are there for each system and which ones are recommended to use. It also have links to BIOS files that these emulators might need.

For the ROMs:

GitHub hosted page from r/roms megathread is great and have a lot of stuff, it is the most complete aggregator and has basically anything you might want. By default it links you to Myrient, which you can also just access directly, but the r-roms site also provide other sources, like collections hosted in the Internet Archive, NoPayStation and hShop, translated ROMs and BIOS files for emulators. If you need/want one single place for everything, this is the closest you'll get, I highly recommend it.

Archive.org's page of ROMs verified to work with RetroAchievements. If you’re lost and don’t know how to access or download the ROMs, just click the show all button on the right. You’ll probably need an account to download anything tho.

Myrient probably have the biggest collection of games archived. It should be your default go-to for your ROMs needs. Highly recommended.

And Since navigating Myrient can be a bit tiring, you can use this search engine made specifically for it. Here's the source code.

Vimm’s Lair have a lot of games, but downloads are slow. It also has recently dealt with a multitude of DMCA strikes, so a lot of stuff might be missing, still, it's a great preservation effort and an option to safely download ROMs.

NoPayStation for PSP, PSVITA and PS3 games, updates and DLC. It downloads content directly from Sony’s CDN. While I linked the browse page by default, if you go to the home page, you can also find links to install it directly to your consoles if you want.

hShop for 3DS games, updates and DLC. In the home page linked you can also find a link to install it directly into your console if you want.

WiiUDownloader for Wii U games, updates and DLC. It downloads content directly from Nintendo’s CDN.

NXBrew for Switch games. I’m not a big fan of this site, but it’s the best one I found. I just suggest you use uBlock Origin and ViolentMonkey with this script and it should be mostly safe.

That’s basically it. I have been downloading a bunch of ROMs lately and that’s basically all I have gathered so far. I've also heard of CDRomance, but I never used it before, so I can't tell how safe it is.

Storage and compression:

One problem you may encounter is storage space for all your ROMs. This usually becomes a problem with PS3, Xbox 360 and Switch games since these games tend to be various gigabyte in size. And the worst part is that you can’t really compress these games right now, the only solution is to buy more storage, unfortunately.

For other systems tho, you can usually compress .cue and .iso files into .chd files and most emulators will work with it. I highly recommend this post on the RetroGameCorps website (it also covers most systems below).

Gamecube and Wii games can be compressed into .rvz files inside Dolphin emulator, just right click on the game and click on convert.

Wii U games can be converted to .wua files inside Cemu emulator. This is specially handy because instead of having a bunch of folders and files, it's a single file for the entire game like any .iso file, with the advantage of also including updates and DLC directly in the same file.

Finally, there’s DS and 3DS games where you can’t compress it, but you can trim the ROMs since it usually contain a lot of garbage data that is useless for running the game, just don’t use it on any ROM Hacks because it might make them stop working. This is the program I use to trim the ROMs. If you're on Linux like me, it works fine on Wine, I personally just have it set up in Bottles.

I've been meaning to watch revolutionaryth0t's content for a while now and this video of theirs was absolutely great, to the point it changed my brain chemistry, I knew socialist productions were different, but not that it was this different when compared to western cartoons I have watched. It opened my eyes to the possibilities of messaging in art outside of capital.

If anyone have recommendations, I really need to watch some more socialist productions. So far the only stuff I've watched were two Soviet movies: Soy Cuba and Solaris.

Also, I've watched some other videos from them after this one and their channel is absolutely amazing, I highly recommend it.

re-publicado de: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/5947409

I recently watched both and really liked it.

A friend have been recommending me to watch Solo Leveling for a while now, and despite my fears of it just being another generic ass story and protagonist, I actually enjoyed it.

The only 2 complaints I can think of right now are that the other characters aren't really that interesting outside the protagonist, so I kinda don't care about them very much, and I think not having any commentary on the very predatory capitalism showed in the story is a bit of a let down, like, the protagonist barely makes money, there's literal monopolization of portals and creation of guilds for profit seeking, yet there's 0 commentary on that, unless I missed something.

That being said, I like the protagonist, he's not an extremely evil or perfectly good guy, he's just a dude that got dragged along and have to make some though decisions here and there.

Spoiler for the end of the seasonAlso, at the end of the first season the dude becomes a necromancer, and I'm a sucker for necromancy, so I'm excited to see where it goes lol.
.

For Trigun, I watched the old anime a while ago, and I thought this new one would go a completely different route, but I was gladly surprised with how it turned out. I just finished watching it and I really liked it. I never read the manga so I don't know how close it is to the original story, but I was shocked with how different it was from the old adaptation. I remember a lot of people complaining about Vash's new design, but honestly the only issue I have with it is that it's a bit too simple lol, I wish his clothing was more complex/overdesigned.

Spoiler about the storyThe only real complain I have with the story is that it doesn't really tries to counter Knives' narrative.

Like, he's obviously right about how the plants are used and killed by humans, but he's a genocidal manipulative race supremacist that wants to create a paradise for his species with all means necessary, and the only thing to counter his narrative is Vash saying it doesn't need to be like that and that humans and plants can coexist, but never explaining how, never addressing the issue with how plants are used and discarded.

I really hope this gets tackled in the next season, because right now it makes it seems like Knives actions and way of thinking was justified.

It's also mentioned how humans basically destroyed Earth and had to send colonizing ships to another planet, but there's no deeper conversation or commentary about how that happened or why it might happen again in this new planet, the narrative is always pointed towards the whole human race being evil and being the issue, and not the current structures that make these things happen. Seems a bit shallow to me.

I used to lurk on r/196 a lot. Doing that actually helped push me further left than I was before and it felt like a safe space by being so pro-LGBT. But after becoming a communist, seeing how "anti-tankie" and liberal they often are, it's just sad really. I feel like there's a sizable portion of people there that just want to feel they belong and end up buying into the whole "anti-tankie" narrative without knowing better.

Also, this image in particular is fucking insulting. Equating us to nazis is not only revolting, it shows how little they understand of what they are talking about.

Hey comrades, how do you deal with bigotry irl?

I'm really sick of so many people around me just saying some LGBTphobic, misogynistic or racist shit. It's bad enough seeing it all over social media everyday, but irl it's even worse. And I can't bring myself to confront anyone about it, be it in person or in a voice call. I don't even know how to confront this type of behavior, what to say, what tone to use, which expressions to make. The few times I managed to do it I was either mocked or met with verbal resistance.

It also doesn't help that my city is very right-wing to say the least, it's like no one I know even think about any of this. It's honestly so tiring.
