If something is marketed as "unlimited", I don't think there is such a thing as "wildly excessive use". Just so you know, the phrase you're thinking of as historic and racist is "colored people". People of Color is a more modern example of people-first language that has been broadly accepted as politically correct. Admittedly, at face value it seems like a very minor difference, but the historical context of a slur is 90% of the problem a lot of the time, so here we are.
