On a whim (since I've been playing PSO on the PC) I decided to download a Dreamcast emulator and muck around with some games. I feel like I'm back in middle school and it's 2000 raising my chao babies and playing some sonic.

I got my humar up to level 30 and I'm grinding out stuff in hard difficulty. Still need to complete all the side story quests and government quests in normal. It's a good time to start too because there's plenty of higher level players around to give a hand, I got a piece of free gear from someone yesterday myself.

I just started a character on the Ephinea server today and so far it's a rush of nostalgia from my childhood. I'd like to actually beat the game this time since I never did on the dreamcast and I didn't have my mom's credit card to play online as a tween.

So I started it with Phantom Blood (rip Danny you were too good for this world lil' pupo) and the entire thing just feels so blatantly queer coded. From the vogue poses MID FIGHT to the insanely buff Johnathan Joestar wrastlin' with the insanely buff Dio Brando. And THE FASHION, it takes place in the late 1800's and yet Jojo is rocking some fabulous outfits.

I love it so far btw it's fantastic and I'm looking forward to Stardust Crusaders and Golden Wind which I know are fan favorites.

For serious though some real bangers out there like Power Of Chaos, Dynasty Warriors 4 Hyper, Battlefield 1942 (!) and BF Vietnam (!).

I skipped the 2nd game because it's not really relevant since the 3rd has all the cards from all three games. There's also a bug present in 1 that doesn't save your game which kills the fun of winning games and collecting cards.

Also worth noting that the ai SUCKS in the first game and most decks Yami plays have all pieces of exodia and he will play stall to get them all. Joey's game at least scales the ai to meet your deck, which is nice because starting out you have a pretty lackluster deck.

YugiKaiba format in Yugi The Destiny just feels like it was designed to frustrate and burn your ass on. While on the other hand the Goat era of Joey The Passion is much easier to play and the cards give you a nice little toolkit of options outside of a mad scramble to summon the strongest beaters before your opponent does.

The game starts you off with the worst LOB deck possible and makes you work for every card you win (one at a time). Since early ygo is all about 4 star cards with good atk power you're totally outclassed by the ai that has a bunch of beatsticks on hand AS WELL AS powerful tributes like summon skull.

And the absolute insult to injury is now TWO TIMES the ai has completed exodia, giving a big ol' fuck you to me when I had the ai down to like 1k life points.

Konami fix your cheating ass games, these are supposed to be for babies, not masochists.
