Startpage gives a good search experience; it uses Google's index. I've read that they're owned by an ad company though, casting doubt on their privacy claims

Qwant is also liked by a decent number of people, but I think there are issues about the behavior of the company behind it

Zu Instagram gut zu wissen: Surfen über Tor geht auf dem Desktop einigermaßen. Auf den Profilseiten kann man zwar nicht normal auf die Kacheln klicken (dann kommt nur das Banner zum Anmelden), aber was geht, ist, sie in neuen Tabs zu öffnen (per Mittelklick oder kopiertem Link). So kann man dann doch alle Zusatzbilder, Videos und die Kommentare dazu sehen.

Mit dem Smartphone-Tor (repo) kommt man anscheinend nicht so gut an die passenden Links (auch nicht mit der Desktop-Version der Seite), aber eventuell kennt hier wer nen Weg. Alternativ vielleicht mit einem anderen Browser über Orbot.

Haven't tried MX. The point with installing Arch (even if you just do it half-way) is that you get to tinker with fdisk, fstab, chroot and other disk-related things for setting up your basic system, and the instructions for that are really good.
