The First International Syndicalist Congress was a meeting of European and Latin American syndicalist organizations at Holborn Town Hall in London that began on this day in 1913. The congress was attended by 38 delegates representing 65 organizations from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cuba, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, with a total membership between 220,000 and 250,000.

Despite being marked by heated disagreements over both tactics and principles, the Congress succeeded in creating the International Syndicalist Information Bureau as a vehicle of exchange and solidarity between the various organizations, and the "Bulletin international du mouvement syndicaliste" as a means of communication. It would be viewed as a success by almost all who participated.

What is it about Evangelical Christians that make them so prone to being ghouls? It seems like any place with a strong Evangelical presence ends up being extremely chuddy with the most far-right views.

Their entire religion is just a bunch of excuses for doing whaever they already wanted to do. It's a completely evil and perverse religion, down to the individual level. There's almost no theology and what their is almost entirely serves to justify xenophobia, violence, and petty greed.

It ca be difficult to understand because it's unqiuely American and largely un-like other world religions, including various sects of Christianity, in that it has little more substance to it than telling adherents that their petty hatreds are god's will and that the libidinal whims of their id are divine mandate.

to be fair, I'm not sure that differs THAT much from extremist movements in other religions. evangelical Christianity probably does have less pretense to it, in terms of like not even having dietary restrictions or anything. but extremists of all faiths use religion as an excuse to do what they want.
