Comrades! I wish you a happiest Halloween!

It is a most special time of year, the time for the frightening and the phantasmic! with ghoulies and ghosties are running amok! Now is when we celebrate all that goes bump in the night!

Please, as we mingle in the megathread this week, lets offer to eachother tidbits to celebrate the season. Are you planning anything big for that special night? Do you have any traditions? Special plans or fun costumes? Got a ghost story to tell us? Let us know! Just don't doxx yourself, now that would be scary.

I for one will be handing out candy to trick or treatlers before attending a theme-appropriate dance party wearing a rather scandalous interpretation of a "bookish lesbian vampire".^[Fangs, glasses, faux leather tights, corset, bdsm harness, a very butch-coded red jacket and black high heel boots.]

Also here is the enby cat familiar if you wanted it (I thought I was clever with this)

A cat wearing witch hat that has yellow, white, and purple stripes, the cat is black, thereby completing the nonbinary pride flag

i'm borrowing a sewing machine at the moment and i have adjusted so many (thrifted) clothes! i used to like sewing with my mum when i was a kid but i haven't done it in years, so i had to watch some tutorials and practice a little first.

cw: body shape talkmostly my issue is that my shoulders are wide for a woman so i have to go up a few sizes to get a good fit. then it's just all too baggy everywhere else. so i've been pinning, sewing, cutting, and overlocking into more of a bell shape to get rid of the bagginess in the middle. and i also get to make my hips look bigger as a freebie.

i think i've done 3 waistbands, 4 tees, 1 hoodie, 2 jumpers so far. i tried to do a blouse but it looked off so i've seamripped it and will try again. the blouse originally had shoulder pads (but it was cheap!) so i think i might have to take the entire thing apart in order to get rid of the extra material from the shoulders after removing the pads. i've also got two coats i'd like to adjust but that's way more complicated and i think it may be beyond what i can do right now.

def my biggest success has been a chunky kit jumper. you are absolutely not meant to ever cut knitwear bc each section (sleeves and body) is made from a single thread of yarn so the whole thing will just unravel. but i did it anyway. i used a really tight (~1mm x ~5mm) zigzag, overlocked the shit out of it, overlocked the shit out of it again, pressed the seam so it sits flush, and the new edge is actually fully stable. i've worn it and washed it and tried to mess it up but it's just good. even my mum's impressed.
