I built my computer, or tried to, like 2 years ago. Cause everyone says "oh why buy prebuilt, its like plugging together lego, its so easy" - well no it wasnt. Mine also didnt work, I ended up having to pay a guy to do it and it turned out I just was unlucky with the motherboard (every once in a while a component ships failed and youre basically just gambling when you buy them).

The exact same people say "oh yeah Linux is sooooo easy, you should do it" but the trust is gone computer people!!!! The trust is gone.

i used to think i was a computer person! then i owned a desktop and had to deal with all the hardware and software bullshit, my main desktop (not the one i was fixing for my partner) just bluescreens every so often and i’ve decided to live with that because i feel like every time i get in the guts i end up making something worse.

linux is even worse, love yall on this website, but i think my brain is simply too smooth for that
