at this point in time, the reverberations of the enormous movement of peoples and technologies caused by ww2 must reach nearly every person alive. whoever goes back in time to kill hitler will almost certainly cease to exist when a grandfather doesn't fight overseas or get displaced to a new country where they met the grandmother.

This is exactly why I think that if time travel ever becomes a real thing, it will only work one way and you'll be stuck in the period you went to with no way back

There is no "future", just a constant stream of the present and the past we leave behind

You go back and change things, you gotta live through it
