I love the idea of a de-escalation button. Does it work well in practice? I could see it being abused by people repeatedly posting offensive or provocative statements then retracting them to avoid criticism.

can we have this feature, but make it look like a heavy sign hanging from one's neck, with "forgive me, i am a reactionary" painted on it with red paint

I think this is a great idea wasted on a platform who's userbase probably wouldn't use it much. Maybe we should implement it here
