To be fair natural milk microbes have been associated with a lot of very positive health effects. It's just that contamination is common and makes you pretty bloody sick 1 in 100-1000 bottles of milk
Weren’t like half of all food borne illnesses caused by milk before pasteurization?
About ~25% of food borne illness was due to pathogenic bacteria making its way into milk/dairy products pre-pasturisation
