They're gonna do something last minute before the World Cup because they think that will punish blue states...

All it's going to do is make the internationally wealthy who are flying in pissed off at trump.

Like, even for the World Cup, most people wouldn't come to America even if they could afford tickets. The only ones coming are trumpets or people so wealthy they didn't think Trump's bullshit would effect them.

But they don't realize in this context even millionaires are "the poors".

This whole thing is gonna blow up in everyone's face. And since only the wealthy and stupid are going to the games, I'm fine with just letting that happen. No rational person is going within miles of any of the games.

They sort of tried this once already, by threatening to suspend TSA Precheck during the shutdown, even though Precheck does legitimately save time all around for everyone. They backed off of that pretty quickly.

What’s up with billionaires and getting inside shit that is bound to implode?

Survivorship bias, and it's fucking our society up in a lot of ways.

We're built to ignore negative consequences if we never see them happen to anyone. So when society (for better or worse) prevents consequences, people think there's no consequences and start acting like it.

Lots of people who are very wealthy in their home countries think they are insulated by their wealth from the consequences of what's happening here. So they're gonna show up expecting to be part of the in-group cuz they're wealthy.
