Lancer is a... weird little guy? I dunno even though I really liked undertale I didn't really vibe with deltarune and never played past ep1. I do vaguely remember having fun fighting him.

Soooo, uh, yeah, that's Lancer I guess. I'd love to hear about everybody's favourite little weirdos.

I hate every part of taking care of my hair. In the shower, brushing it, dealing with it when it's wet, it all sucks. Tbh with yall I do not deal with it every day. I have to get better about it.

Just more and more personal care shit. Plus I ha e to add makeup at some point, plus skincare, plus actually doing all the things I'm already supposed to do.

I only wash my hair every other day, sometimes every three days. I wash my body every day but not my hair. It gets oily for a bit but oil is just texture and eventually your scalp chills out and stops producing as much and you just have regular hair every day. I guess it depends on the type of hair you have but I have pretty wavy style curly hair and it doesnt need a wash literally every day.

Who told you you had to do makeup or skincare every day?? Do you tell the women in your life they should be doing their makeup everyday?? People talk about retinol every day, but thats wayyy too much and not necessary anyway. Might sound harsh but this sounds very much like internalized misogyny. It sucks to start being a woman after years and years of hearing about patriarchal misogynistic beauty standards and then realizing "oh shit this applies to me" and not having the mental antibodies for it yet - rest assured, youre a woman if you dont do your makeup every day and you dont wash your hair every day. Skincare if you wanna get into it can be a moisturizing sunscreen and your 100% of the way there, I have other stuff I do cause I like it not because I have to.

The stuff you have to do is what makes you happy, eggnog.

Well every 3 days is still more often then I wash mine tbh with you.

I guess I just thought that was typical?? Like a lot of the women in my life do at least something every day I feel like, even before workouts and stuff. Skincare I thought people usually did stuff at least once a day. Plus I know makeup can help with passing and stuff which is important to me.

Might sound harsh but this sounds very much like internalized misogyny.

No I just thought that was what most women did?

So why would you "have" to do makeup? Especially if you are currently saying you dread it? You don't have to.

I mean I guess yea, I don't literally have to, just that it seems really expected for women to do, and I'm transitioning to be a woman. And even more so because I'm trans and it would help me look better which I need even more. idk, I kinda get what you're saying, do you understand what I'm saying?

  • You do not have to do makeup to be a woman, if you want to do it because it makes you happy than do it. If you think its an obligation, its not. Maybe it'd help you pass but the dread you felt suggests maybe you don't want to do makeup. So don't!

it seems really expected of women and Im transitioning to be a woman. And it would help me look better

This part is beauty standards and internalized stuff. You should talk to your support group about these feelings and that you felt some dread about it. Also... you might like makeup later when youre doing it (I do)! If you like it do it! Not bbecause you "have" to or "women have to" - do you tell women in your life they need to wear makeup?

Skincare can be as simple as just applying some moisturizer after taking a bath. You can do something everyday yes, but it doesn't have to take a lot of time or effort. And remember, if you can do a little better than yesterday it's already progress, go little by little and you'll get where you want to.

I cowash a couple times a week, but I only shampoo like once a week.

I guess I just thought that was typical?? Like a lot of the women in my life do at least something every day I feel like, even before workouts and stuff.

I never got the impression that it was typical. But my main examples wouldn't be exactly typical women (and one may not be one at all).

Skincare I thought people usually did stuff at least once a day.

I've tried to remember to at least put on lotion/cream/ointment at least once a day. But that's because I'd start to bleed if I don't do that kind of skin care. Likewise for my brother. I don't think I would otherwise. If you think you'd benefit from doing more than you are, then do it. As Alisu pointed out, it can be as simply as putting on some lotion/ointment after a shower to avoid drying out.
