If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

The CCP was tracking all the same information before the US's involvement.
I highly doubt the CCP was tracking immigration status for US residents
Thanks for letting us know you have no clue what we're talking about. They literally sent a mandatory survey out in the new patch.
And people thought it being from China would mean their data would only be held by China when Google sharing data with China to be able to keep making money showed corporations don't care and will sell out everyone to be able to keep raking in money.
Lot of naive people not realizing corporations whether it is west, east, or the upside down are in the business of data collection and sharing with no care for protecting domestic or international users.
The change is who the information is going to, not that it was collected.
This very article is about a change in the privacy policy, indicating a change in what was collected. The CCP/ByteDance has zero reason to have been previously tracking immigration status of US users
