You should come over to Europe. We have nice food and democracy (in most places. Fuck Orban).

I don't think Europe wants me, and the money it would take is likely ~15k? I will never have that much money in savings again, I briefly did when I was living with parents when I was younger but these days like... lol

Sounds nice, but I doubt I could replace the 13 wooded acres i own 60km from the nearest thing that has a right to call itself a city, and I value my seclusion.

Northern Europe is made up almost exclusively of forests and mountains. If you like warmer weather, you can buy an entire abandoned village in Portugal or Italy for pocket change.there are also extensive old growth Forrest's all over central and eastern Europe.

You might find something in Norway.

[-] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 5 points 5 months ago

Sounds cold. I'm in the state of Georgia. I'll stay home and fight the fascists as best as I can. Someone needs to.

Norway is a pretty long country. The north and inland are cold in the winter. But the south west coast is pretty hospitable year round. Norway is generally a lot warmer than you'd expect. I'm up in the arctic and currently have sunflowers growing on my balcony.
