The Israeli army's Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, issued an evacuation order to all residents in Gaza on 13 June via X, declaring vast areas of the strip as “dangerous combat zones” that the citizens should stay away from.

In the map he shared, the red areas shown are designated as “dangerous combat zones,” and cover the majority of the Gaza Strip, forming a wide horizontal band that spans almost the entire region from north to south, leaving only a narrow strip along the coastline where people can traverse.

Maybe I was being too pedantic. The point was, they are committing an unnecessary genocide.

To annex a land you can do things like displace the people, enslave a people, commit genocide, etc. Genocide is not strictly necessary. They could have tried displacing them into other countries before bombing the shit out of basically the entire strip.

I’m not saying mass murder has never been used in annexation but calling it annexing undersells the fact that they are committing a genocide

israel has been displacing people since inception. genocide isnt their motivation or purpose so much as it is their method as you noted. there are many options and many things can be true at once.

the genocide is ancillary to the annexation.

and i wholly agree, they should pay for committing the act of genocide.

the whole thing reminds me of that south park episode where its ok to kill things if you scream 'theyre comin right for us!' first.
