If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I live across the river from Washington and I have a friend that lives over there in the mountains. When I drive to her spot, it's nothing but hard MAGA country for miles. This does not surprise me at all. One of her dogs got loose and ran into the neighbor's yard a while back and, one of her children went to get the dog. The neighbor ran out with a gun and threatened the child at gunpoint because she was on his property. A fucking 14 year old kid.
Oregon Territory was founded as a whites-only ethnostate.
America was founded as a whites-only ethnostate. We had some pretty big fights about that.
No it wasn't. Importation of black slaves was very much allowed.
Except they were seen as property and not part of the state.
That changes nothing. Oregon Territory was a whites-only ethnostate in the sense that black people weren't allowed in even as property.

Lots of rural Washington is MAGA/Nazi territory. Especially Eastern Washington.
And apparently the state has a history of problems with private militias, because the state constitution guarantees firearm ownership for self defense while at the same time forbidding belonging to a militia.
So this story isn’t a surprise.
I just assume every rural area is like that. Doesn’t matter how liberal the state.
