sorry, i'm stuck on the voting thing. i really want lemmy to be better than reddit, and the "dislike/downvote" thing has bugged the shit out of me since around 2008. i'll drop it now, i'm sorry.

going back to what's important, the "winging it" part is the most horrifying. they didn't even read the fucking book - they're just taking from directions from the bald, evil, horrible miller that actually did.

Don’t be horrified, be comforted. The fascists of the past would be so embarrassed by this shit show

i don't think you're factoring in the past 30 years of anti-education sentiment in the usa. i don't wonder about the fascists of the past. i wonder about the result we're all seeing + 2020 covid kids and horrified is definitely the right word

That’s a small generation compared the the millennials and gen X who are the most educated generations in history.

You don’t worry about the right things. Stop talking shit about the younger generations. All the election numbers were false.

please don't for a second think that i'm talking shit about the next generations. if anything, i feel overly compelled to try to help them.

i don't think i'm worrying about the wrong things. i worry that one day i'll find myself coding in an ER and the nurse will try to feed me bees because that's what chatgpt said and she doesn't know any better.

[-] RedPostItNote@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

We’re already past that. If insurance wants you to have bees you will have bees.

We’re about to see an unprecedented break down in society. I’d recommend if you have two good brain cells to rub together, and are this frustrated already, get the fuck out of America. I’m leaving because I refuse to contribute to what is happening here. You sound young and able- go somewhere you can be confident your hard work actually matters. This isn’t and won’t be the country for that for a good ten, fifteen, maybe twenty years. Don’t waste your time in a bad place.

i do indeed have at least two brain cells, and these three (i'm being generous) brain cells all live in canada, where they were born. and we don't want you. you need to sort your shit, not flee.

[-] RedPostItNote@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

That’s neither how history nor your country works. I already have a Canadian PR so “sorry”. Maybe I overestimated your intelligence.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
