I am able to create and access two multicommunities, but when I try to create one with [email protected], it tells me that my instance is not responding.

Not sure what the issue is. As soon as [email protected] is removed from the multicommunity, it seems to work fine.

In the future, your home will feel as safe from intruders as a state-of-the-art military base.

Cameras and sensors surveil the perimeter, scanning bystanders’ faces for potential threats. Drones from a “deterrence pod” scare off trespassers by projecting a searchlight over any suspicious movements. A virtual view of the home is rendered in 3D and updated in real time, just like a Tesla’s digital display. And private security agents monitor alerts from a central hub.

This is the vision of home security pitched by Sauron, a Silicon Valley start-up boasting a waiting list of tech CEOs and venture capitalists.

An empty two story hotel lobby in Colorado, with room windows and sliding doors facing inwards, dimly lit by lamp posts. Empty chairs and sofas leave a wide open central space.

Security company ADT disclosed in an SEC filing that hackers obtained “some limited customer information, including email addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses.” TechCrunch reports that ADT’s disclosure follows a seller on a cybercrime forum claiming last week that they had obtained more than 30,000 stolen ADT customer records.

A direct quote from the finance minister of Israel today: "Nobody will let us cause 2 million civilians to die of hunger, even though it might be justified and moral, until our hostages are returned."

Google researchers have come out with a new paper that warns that generative AI is ruining vast swaths of the internet with fake content — which is painfully ironic because Google has been hard at work pushing the same technology to its enormous user base.

Back in the 90s, Jeff Bezos went on record as hoping his employees would wake up on the wrong side of the bed—for the greater good, or for the customer at the very least.

From what I remember, AI facial recognition tech was already being used by police and agencies worldwide, like the FBI, PRC police etc, or am I misinformed? I remember something about Chinese and American facial recognition software.

I feel like you didn't actually read their comment before posting, [email protected]

It has nothing to do with Lemmyshitpost being their "favorite community" and they never mentioned "investing" or "value". That's all from you. Stop strawmanning their position. They were criticizing the ease with which entire communities can be taken down by single individuals. Additionally, it seems you are contradicting your own post from 20 minutes prior to your current comment. Perhaps you responded to the wrong comment?

Not every country has a law which protects you like that, and some have the exact opposite law that actively goes after you for it instead.

How about we start right now? Just don't post anything related to him until it's actually confirmed to be actually happening and not just him shitposting.

Muskovy needs to get the Japan/Germany treatment - entirely demilitarized and culturally rewritten from the ground up over three consecutive generations until they're more associated with absolute pacifism a Muskovite version of anime than anything else. The rest of the RF needs to be culturally rewritten until they don't even remember what the word "Russian" means other than synonymous with "Nazi".

"Democrats" is an amazingly broad term that mostly encompasses "almost anything that isn't Republicans". It isn't so much a unified monolith as an alliance of often polar opposite interests banding together only because the GOP is the only real alternative. Were the GOP to disappear tomorrow, I guarantee the Democratic party would almost instantly split into dozens of smaller parties, or possibly into two again. Compared to most of Europe, an American "Democrat" is a centrist or even a right wing neoliberal. People like Bernie Sanders, who is viewed as a far-left outright communist in America, would barely count as center left in most of Western Europe.

Just goes to show that for all they claim to love the military, the GOP is emphatically not backing servicemembers. Not during service, and not after they separate or retire either, judging by how they keep cutting veterans benefits.
