The headlines said that 30% of code at Microsoft was AI now! Huge if true!
Something like MS word has like 20-50 million lines of code. MS altogether probably has like a billion lines of code. 30% of that being AI generated is infeasible given the timeframe. People just ate this shit up. AI grifting is so fucking easy.
In case anyone else comes here to say this: amongst many other things, this shit is funny. Even out of context: someone defending their choice of ex by saying they were good at gaming is already funny. Ladling all the other layers of context only makes it more and more farcical.

Frontier models are increasingly trained and deployed as autonomous agents, which significantly increases their potential for risks. One particular safety concern is that AI agents might covertly pursue misaligned goals, hiding their true capabilities and objectives – also known as scheming. We study whether models have the capability to scheme in pursuit of a goal that we provide in-context and instruct the model to strongly follow. We evaluate frontier models on a suite of six agentic evaluations where models are instructed to pursue goals and are placed in environments that incentivize scheming.

What I’ve heard from my endless hours of comedy podcasts is that at corporate gigs like this, sometimes some execs start getting the idea that, because comedy is being performed, that they get to make some jokes too.
