It's more likely that they just wait until Trump is gone like they did last time. Russia probably wouldn't mind the spare years to regroup and recover from the past few years of war either.

To be fair, freedom appeals to both sides of the horseshoe so we shouldn't be shocked if those making freedom-based software are either left wing or right wing extremists.
