stein if you live in a state where a big Green vote will let them skip the petition step of running candidates in lower offices. some more abt it otherwise it doesn't matter, write in Joe Biden

well sometimes you can't tell from the ingredients e.g. bone char sugar, cysteine from feathers instead of bacteria or synthetic. But those are edge cases

What do you mean soy sauce isn't vegan? Ingredients water, soybeans, wheat, salt.

The Fee Foam cocktail foam is legitimately much less hassle than egg whites. I'm vegan so I don't know if it tastes better (both are bad in large amounts) but I hear that it's caught on at bars.

Thanks. This is the most thorough treatment I've seen of higher races leading to lower ballot access.

Why would it be important to convince avowed liberals? They'll come around once there is an actually existing leftist movement that can offer them something real. In the meantime, liberal working people don't have any power to use for evil, so who cares what they think. We should be talking to the millions of ordinary people who are sick of this shit. Our task is to teach those people about socialism and show them that they have another option: collective action.

vote if you want, but since voting will not improve the situation you have a responsibility to do other stuff. I think people are getting too worked up about the election, communists and liberals alike. If the Greens got 5% for federal funding it'd be nice, but I think communists should view electoral power as something that comes from a strong workers' movement, not something where we do well in an election and then that magically conjures class struggle. We have to organize, there is no shortcut

gross. honestly I've had a couple first dates that ended in sex and at least for straight men it's just not good bc of power dynamics. My armchair psychoanalysis is that these men either (a) are just legitimately fucked in the head and could still get their rocks off with a partner who is still background worried for her physical safety (b) don't actually want what they want, and that's why they're half-assing the whole dating app thing. So they can say they put themselves out there but they don't have to be actually vulnerable - self-destructive behavior except they're doing it by being actively shitty to women

Don't ask for a date "sometime", give it a time frame like "this week". Short conversations are perfectly fine and lead to more than 1/3rd of your dates showing up.

They're still in Kurian's office, still streaming, and starting to get major media coverage: WaPo Wired

In my opinion this is one of the most important labor developments in the US in a while. Internationally politicized worker organization in the belly of the beast by traditionally un-unionizable PMCs.

Where do I find cheap firm tofu online? Costco used to be $1.25 a block for the good stuff but now is like $1.60 for less than a pound of "firm" that crumbles if you look at it funny. Every other local store has even worse prices, even Chinatown. I am ready to just give up and buy 40 pounds online or something. I eat a block of tofu for dinner most days (or I would, if it was cheap and good again).
