And I know you can't tell from the headline, but this new rule against sex ed in schools also prohibits telling children what parts of their body are not okay for an adult to touch. Thanks to this new law, we will have a generation of children who are unable to report sexual abuse. Anyone who is in favour of this law is aiding and abetting pedophiles and getting children raped.

No, that's not true at all. I was pretty clearly nonbinary growing up, but every adult told me that natural puberty was a good thing and there was no way to avoid it. They didn't tell me that puberty blockers were an option. They should have. It would only be 2 years after reaching natural puberty that I realised I was trans. 2 years of puberty blockers might have made a huge difference to my life. I was sure as shit rushed by every adult I knew into transitioning into a man, just because I was born with a penis.

When I first got into D&D I didn't know what edition I was playing. I knew there were multiple editions, but I couldn't find the edition number. The box just said Dungeons and Dragons.

It was 4E, and I played multiple other systems before I finally got into 5E.

Actual Plays can introduce you to new styles of playing and DMing and improve your skills at the table. For example many people started running planescape campaigns due to Rolling With Difficulty. Before RWD, lots of people had no idea that D&D has spaceships and what is essentially a sci-fi setting. If you're a GM who wants to get better at running the game, then obviously my first recommendation is Matt Colville's videos, but try listening to a few different actual plays and learning from the styles of different GMs. Maybe you hate the way Matt Mercer runs the game, but you really like how Brennan Lee Mulligan does it. Maybe you didn't know it was possible to run the game in a different way than how Matt Mercer does it. If you don't have three decades of experience playing with diverse tables, then actual plays provide a substitute for that experience.

Also we are familiar with informational structures - thinking machines - with a greater intelligence than their single biological components. For example, an ant hive. Each individual ant is a simple creature, programmed with instructions that allow a hive of ants to manage armies, roads, farms, nurseries, exploration, hunts, and war. If I'm an experienced D&D player, will I need to worry about knowing how to build a class? I didn't have any problems understanding KOTOR's character creation, and I actually prefer Mass Effect 1's combat and levelling over 2. I love crpgs.

One of my parents is a woman. And she was an abusive woman. But do I hate women? No. That's because I understand that my personal experiences aren't always indicative of the state of the larger world. Now, you probably think the idea of hating women because of an abusive woman parent is ridiculous, and you're right. It's ridiculous because you and I have met many women, and we know that most women aren't abusive. I have also met many people living with NPD, and that's why I know thinking people who suffer from NPD are abusive is ridiculous. But if you've never been to an NPD support group, you probably haven't met a lot of pwNPD, and you probably don't have the directly experienced perspective to instinctively understand what I do. Which is why it's important for everyone to understand the limits of our own experience.
