Religion is a nazi bar.

Then you'll just get people telling you that you're anthropomorphising or something. Because apparently the default position is that every animal is just a meat robot (even animals with brains much like our own) and that humans are the only animal to ever exist that thinks or feels things because we're just that special and magical and chosen by god or some shit. Everything else has a fish brain.
Some anti-vaxx, conspiracy nut with a dead worm in his head that died eating part of his brain, who likes to do weird shit with roadkill. Aka the USA's top healthcare guy.
Especially when they support politicians that want to legally marry children and send them to work in the mines on a school night. And it's never been a secret that these politicians are a bunch of kiddie fiddlers. In fact, southern (red) US states have a reputation all the way across the ocean here for being where the products of incest, teen moms and preachers that can't keep their hands to themselves in youth group all live.
It's no secret. And yet masses of people voted for this scum to "protect the children" from drag queens reading books in public libraries. I don't know if these people actually believe the lie that they tell when they say they care about the children but I sure as hell don't. Because it's pretty clear to me with my own eyes and my own brains that these people willingly handed their children over to the most prolific predators and pedos of all.
My weed guy. I don't really have friends anymore lol. I've got a long time (like two decades) online friend, who recently moved in with her boyfriend and I haven't heard from her in about a month. Guessing that friendship is going to understandably not be the same from here (and it won't be the first friendship of this type that has faded away for the same reason).
But I lost touch with all of my old friends years ago (maybe intentionally). And I haven't been getting out much over the last decade. So these days it's cool people on Lemmy that keep me company and keep me sane, mostly.
Yeah and sadly the conspiracy theory scene seems to be completely taken over by bad actors with right wing agendas. That prey on these people who actually need help, rather than to be fed stories about George Soros and the deep state and microchips in vaccines etc.
All that I hear with this kind of argument, especially coming from a 'boss', is: "We have to keep maximising shareholder value and making sure that the CEO gets a bigger bonus every year. So despite our massive guaranteed record profits every time we drop a new game, we just have to raise prices so that the CEO won't feel the tariffs too badly when he buys his next Ferrari."
Tankies showing us how close to right wing conservatives they really are. How unusual /s. Makes one look at this particular crowd's big push to not vote in elections against a wannabe bigot fascist a little differently..
Beehaw users and communities always give me good vibes. Even before I looked the instance up and saw that good vibes are its thing. And if that entire instance left Lemmy, I think that would be pretty sad because we need all of the good vibes and good people around here that we can get.
Red Flags (if I don't blatantly show disgust, I'll probably ghost you after observing this stuff):
- Littering
- Treating animals like objects
- Treating staff in restaurants and shops etc. like trash
- Being into manosphere shit or treating any podcaster / influencer / asshat with a microphone like they're a guru
- Interest in conspiracy theories and/or 'free speech' aka actions without consequences
- Crying about wokeness or women or queer people
Amber Flags (I'm a bit put off but I don't want to judge a book by its cover so I'll get to know you first):
- Subscribing to a religion
- Having no neck, a red face, short / no hair, tribal tattoos and walking like you've got an invisible water bottle under each arm
- Being a constant 'positivity' person
Edit: I feel like that's a lot. Maybe I just hate everyone lol. Maybe I'm the red flag.
It's good to see a punk band other than Green Day in the news for making a splash these days.
