I am always baffled that people get taken in by Yudkowsky. The first time I ever saw him speaking or read his writing I was forcefully reminded of a classmate who would wax lyrical about their ability in all subjects, somehow this never reflected in their actual marks.

Similarly, yudkowsky has no intellectual achievements. He doesn't publish anything under peer review (this can be way too difficult if you aren't slavishly following academic trends, but it's still possible). All he has is fanfic, the ludicrously long "sequences", and a "decision theory" that just says "this theory recommends the best decision" in a beautifully closed circle.

Don't worry about, super magic AGI will solve all problems. Sam Altman said so.

Underrated comment. However, it's never lupus.

just add AI, they will be functional beyond the intelligence of eliezer yudkowsky. Ah sorry, that means they will have negative intelligence...

He is desperate that people regard him as a deep and serious thinker. The trouble is, no interesting thought has ever crossed his mind. This is the reason for his pathetic hatred of academics. His university professors rightly saw a useless dweeb with an outrageous sense of self regard.

The onion has to be funny, not just dumb. It isn't the Babylon bee.

I literally had an Israel defender on reddit agree that black people under apartheid should have accepted it for "peace". I live in south Africa, fuck Nazis, even the Jewish ones.

Irony: Jewish people in SA were a big part of anti-apartheid efforts; all the while Israel was apartheid's biggest mate (after Thatcher and Reagan got cold feet of course, don't feel too righteous in the anglosphere).

It wouldn't work, even in principle. They want to force you to live by their lunacy. It would be totally pointless if they couldn't exert power over the unwilling.

Deus ex human revolution: explores a meta narrative of how you use power in computer games. Your character has incredible capability. You could obliterate every enemy with ease. It's a completely different game if you try to avoid killing those who are just getting by (sure a security guard will shoot you, but they are expecting lethal terrorists). You use the power you have to avoid killing, not to make it easy.

I have never felt more autistic. Do people really need to lick fire to know it will hurt?

"Smarter than you think" and "Similar to tiktok trends"...These are contradictory. Unless you thought our ancestors had undergone total lobotomies

Positrons don't move backwards in time in any physical sense. Their mathematical representation is like an electron with a negative time coordinate but this is physically dubious because it fails in curved spacetimes. Electron-positron pairs are entangled because they are correlated by the process that created the pair. Entanglement is just a correlation, not some magical link.
