The 1933 election followed the previous year's two elections (July and November) and Hitler's appointment as Chancellor. In the months before the 1933 election, SA and SS displayed "terror, repression and propaganda ... across the land",[1]: 339  and Nazi organizations "monitored" the vote process. In Prussia 50,000 members of the SS, SA and Der Stahlhelm were ordered to monitor the votes by acting Interior Minister Hermann Göring, as auxiliary police.[1]: 345

The relationship between Scouting and the Pentagon is also codified in law, which states that the Pentagon must seek a waiver from Congress if the military intends to cut its support, and explain why giving that assistance “would be detrimental to the national security of the United States”.

I love how they tag this minor detail onto the very end where they have to publicly justify it to congress rather than just doing whatever autocratic whim they feel like.

'hardcoded' is not the same as default settings you can adjust with a toggle

In theory, the will of the people should be the common good/best practices. The reality though is there are a certain portion of any given population with entirely selfish or hateful wishes. Those type of people tend to seek power in whatever fashion they can get and use those positions to amplify their voices trying to convince others to support them.

Death, the ultimate health program.

Consistency is key. For many the problem is they think of it as something you need to do for a while and then go back to 'normal' when really you should be looking for a new normal.

Apps can help, the best one is the one you actually use honestly and routinely.

Hey all, it seems I've not kept up on the instance updates and ran into a problem when looking to move several versions today. I'm currently sitting on 1.1.7, went through trying both the script and the manual steps (which look to be the same functionally) and get a consistent error every time at step 4/10

A couple things, is there a way I could set up an alert for version updates available to keep on top of things and more currently is there some steps I need to jump versions like this?

The relevant error in the build is below.

When you suddenly realize how disposable you are to the cult if you dispute the word of their deity...

So I was just renewing a contract with a VPN provider, and paid out for a couple years it works out to somewhere under $2/month.

ISPs around me can run from about $50-$150/month

If I'm putting the major bulk of my traffic over a tunnel that could eat up a sizable chunk of a given connection point for the provider that I'm sure costs more than $2/month to maintain. I would have to assume it would take the combined subscriptions of several users to pay for a given node.

So how does that work as a business model? Unless these VPN providers are getting a steal on their connections it's hard to envision how they can manage to pay their costs without these nodes being absolutely bottlenecked when a few people start streaming some shows.

So I did some ducking around for a list of Trump's hatch act violations, and it seems there where so many during the 2020 campaign that nobody has gotten around to compiling a list of ones so far this year.

Apart from this, I know he's used the whitehouse page as his personal blog, and the housing administrations was being used for a political billboard...

What's the latest rule on how many times one has to blatently break a law before it goes into effect?
