another issue with the static linking is the larger binary sizes it causes, meaning more of my precious disk space is wasted!!! another big issue on extremely resource limited systems such as 90s equipment with hard drives measured in hundreds of megabytes. i have gentoo running on a OG pentium (coz its one of the few distros left that truely supports it, via their i486 branch) and i have a dedicated hard drive for all the package management files and other caches portage uses lmao

im a pretty good driver IRL (dont tell the cops) but in sim racing i just suck a lot by flying off turns, understeering a bunch, and fishtailing, probably coz i cant "feel" it the same way i do irl and the paradigm is different

you may find interest in the Nobara linux distro. its Fedora but the default install requires almost no fiddling to be usable
i use desktop speakers 90% of the time and i only use the headset if im voice communicating with friends because i generally dislike headphones on my ears. one day ill get a stand mic but eh
