Other than the Dynamic Island you won’t find any difference in usability. The 12MP vs 48MP cameras matter only if you need it for work or other money making purposes because iPhones have been considered top notch cameras even before they even had 48MP in their lineup
I haven’t used family screen time restrictions but is it possible that the widget you’ve added is actually monitoring your son’s usage because the family member selected is your son.
Go into edit mode and tap the widget to see which family member it’s tracking on the widget.
It’s probably just finger grease and it reappears around the same spots because you hold your phone the same way.
Or you’ve managed to rub off some sort of coating that they do on the camera glass.
It could theoretically be an issue with the display or battery cable.
Use the move to ios app to bring over everything including WhatsApp.

A normal 12 or even a 13 mini should work well for you if don’t need a big screen.
I guess even the longer support isn’t exactly the deciding factor considering that Samsung has been offering 4 full so updates and google just announced 7.
iOS vs Android is a fool’s debate imo, it’s about more about preferences than about absolute features, even when the features are same, their implementation and convenience can make a difference. Someone may prefer the same thing is done on android and the someone else will prefer the way it’s done on iOS.
Why must people need to feel superior based on their phone and its OS? Everybody uses what they like best depending on their budget and to start comparing them is useless.
They’ll probably spend some $$ on research and data analytics and forecast a cost benefit analysis of the possible scenarios (Pulling out of EU/Complying with EU Rules/ Offering Specific EU only features/ Any other) and whichever scenario expects the highest net benefit in terms of money is what they’ll do.
I’m just guessing because money is the reason corporations exist, so that’ll be their first priority.
If you have to choose, you probably shouldn’t get either. Same as me because I am a student and I got an iPhone and even though I could have splurged for AirPods or AppleCare, I decide to save money and bought a protective case and tws earphones from OnePlus (they have good sound quality and battery life and okayish ANC, but more importantly they were 1/3 the price of AirPods and 1/4 the price of AirPods Pro). The only thing you’ll notice is that there’s no pop up animation when you open the earbuds case.
If she’s using androids she most probably likes the big screens. I’d recommend at least get the 13 (like everybody else said).
The SE caters to a niche market of people who absolutely have to have an iPhone and either don’t want to spend more or need the Touch ID. No happy android user is going to like an SE (at least the current one) because of its small IPS display and abysmal battery life. (Leaving aside the camera which is decent but nothing to be happy about). No matter how good the processor is, the phone feels extremely dated and looks like it’s already 7 years old out of the box.
You might feel that it’s not a big deal but considering that you don’t have the option to use fingerprint, you’ll have to use your passcode every time and it’s not a generally good practice to keep putting in your password in public. Further FaceID enables a you to do the things way faster like Apple Pay and also a lot of apps allow you to use FaceID as a way to lock the apps. You’ll miss out on a lot of the features.
