Always love it when the people in charge know something is bad for THEM but good for US and they just throw a tasteful graphic spouting some bullshit on a page to change minds. They did this in Columbus about Issue 1 like a month ago, saying how upping the Majority Vote to 60% for state bills was just a good thing, even though it was just to prepare for issue 1 in November to repeal backwards ass Abortion Laws. It was obvious too since it was like all the pamphlet talked about

Most of the vengeful Jesus comes from people doing evil things in His name. Going into places where people claim they love him and then doing evil underhanded things with His name as a shield. In recent years a lot of the ideologies I hold have started differing from my family’s. I know they all mean well, but a lot of them hold disdain for my ideologies and it’s been hard to stand up for myself since growing up we all got along really well. Some of them are willing to just talk and I appreciate them greatly.

I apologize but I’m not sure I understand. If you mean “us people” as a whole, then I can’t deny that a lot of the anger is justified. The Christian banner has been used to say and do a lot of terrible shit by evil and misguided people. I may not agree with your stance, but I respect your free will and right to believe what you believe. You have as much a right to exist as anybody else does.

I agree with much of what you’re saying. Using scripture as a weapon (to condemn NOT that which is wrong, but that they don’t like or understand) and as a shield (to defend themselves against their abhorrent acts) is a despicable cancer that has festered since the dawn of the religion. I again look at the way much of the community behaves and just feel… deeply sad at how much they choose to misunderstand Jesus’ message and just hate.

I’m a Christian that was raised on the ideology of the separation of Church and State and I’ve never understood why extremist Christian rhetoric determines so many of our laws. Almost the ENTIRE debate on abortion comes down to Christian ideologies - ideologies that we ourselves can’t fully agree on but insist on pushing onto others. My philosophy is the golden rule of doing unto others and all that. Condemnation is why we get a bad wrap and so many of us spit in Jesus’ face by constantly judging and condemning others for things we don’t agree with or even just don’t understand.
