A little bit of context (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blitzchung_controversy)

In 2019, competitive Hearthstone player Blitzchung was removed from a tournament and banned from future tournaments for displaying a sign saying "Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times" in accordance with Blizzard's policy against political protest during events

Now that they've Targeted Gamers, there was a massive outrage, and the hearthstone community got pissed, so they protested in the following ways:

-Pretending to delete their account

-Preparing for some big protest at Blizzcon

-Some weird scheme to associate Overwatch's Chinese character Mei with Hong Kong protests, in hopes of getting Overwatch censored in China (obviously didn't do anything, based on the myth that Winnie the Pooh is banned in China)

-And most importantly, making big posts about how mad they are

Eventually, Blizzcon rolled around, no protest materialized, and they announced Overwatch 2, so everyone let this die, everyone let Hong Kong be forgotten. A stunning example of Reddit activism, I'll never forget it

What's unrealistic about this scene? I'm sure any teenager would act the same way when faced with a mounted turret

It makes sense. "What about the children in Africa" was a very popular topic for activism and charities until fairly recently (I feel like the cause has lost momentum since 2016-ish)

It's about a video game npc that becomes self aware, I think they're trying to copy The Truman Show where everyone reacts to him being free

This has to be what reeducation camps are made for, right? Do you think he could be taught that his porn addiction isn't a personality trait, or that forcing him to talk to other humans his age would eventually transform him into a productive member of society?

"30 year old openly attracted to anime children" is one of the most disgusting types of people I can imagine, I wonder if there's any hope for them

You may start to believe that the war you fought in was entirely pointless and only to the benefit of military contractors. This is normal

Imagine suffering from decades of oppression from the Japanese and then your "liberators" force you to speak English, a language you've never heard in your life. Just horrible

I think in elementary school I was taught that Jefferson "fell in love with a slave" but it was framed as a positive trait, proving he's not that racist. The fact that he had 6 kids with her and enslaved them until his own death was not mentioned. This is probably common knowledge around here but wtf that's probably one of the most evil things you can do

In Xcom1 you basically play as a swat team against alien "terrorists", and then i think you play as cops in Chimera Squad. Xcom2 is that real shit

You play as a multiethnic resistance group that performs guerrilla warfare against an overwhelmingly powerful oppressor. Feels like a leftist dogwhistle, even if realistically its normal #resistance

i kinda put together that a lot of african poverty is because of literal occupation, but i thought it was only in the past. I only recently learned that some west african countries are still paying "debts" to france for "damages" incurred during the french empire. its super bad

In america, more than 60 protesters have been run over this year but people will send the tank man image to chinese people, thinking it will deprogram them and make them hate china

I didnt fall down the alt-right pipeline, but it instilled in me the idea that I didnt have a mental illness, I was just looking for an excuse for my own flaws. I probably have ADD or something and i buried it for like 6 years until 3 days ago, and now i have to figure this shit out.

Also, yes, this page is my personal diary, what of it?
