Three hours left until Satisfactory 1.0 drops
Missed all the fun being out for the evening. I just want to inform you that I am not even exaggerating for comedic purposes that much, here is a random video found by typing "mongol influence on russian culture" on google and clicking the video tab. It features bangers such as "It has been several hundred years in their genetic inheritance that authoritarianism is the only solution".

Went to rateyourmusic to check for new releases and just noticed they locked access to the forums behind being logged in. That sucks, for a long time I used the threads that linked to an artist or album's page to find similar stuff and that's how I discovered a lot of cool things along the years. I am not going to register an account on a website that shows it will only get worse so fuck that noise.
Between every site forcing you to make accounts for even the most basic functionality, aggressively trying to get you to download their shitty mobile apps and like half the internet shitting and pissing itself if it detects that you are using a VPN, I guess capitalism will continue to strip away every bit of usability out of the internet until it remains a merely an interface for feeding your data into advertising algorithms.
Haven't been online for ages due to a whole bunch of life stuff, how are the bears doing? If all goes well I'm slowly getting off anxiety medication this fall.
Also Op. Bagration really blew my mind away the first time I watched that documentary on it. The sheer scale of it and all the deception involved into its preparation is really amazing. I will echo the OP and ask everyone to do their patriotic duty and watch Soviet Storm, and also check out When Titans Clashed - How the Red Army Stopped Hitler by David Glantz if you are in the mood for reading more WW2 history. The book can be a lot to take in at times, but it's a solid source to dispel the mindless Asiatic red hordes bullshit surrounding the Eastern Front. I am considering giving it a reread myself as it's been a long while since I read it.
Yes but yall are liberals and wouldn't get them.
Every letter of this post hits so hard, thanks for putting this together. In my early-mid 20s I had to do a lot of playing the record back to my childhood years to even figure out that I had in fact experienced trauma and emotional abuse, afterwards working up the mental energy to go see a therapist was a struggle in itself. I have improved since then and my social anxiety is not as bad as to require high intensity mental prep to just start up a conversation, but it's still a struggle at times, like the lingering paranoia about being unknowingly cruel in social interactions that OP also mentioned.
Some people I knew got into it, discussed it a lot for the first couple of days, then they got burnt out pretty quick and concluded it is bland and repetitive. Haven't heard much about it since, and I haven't personally tried it myself.
I can make a drinking game out of counting the nazi shit sprayed on the walls in my general area. Seen a big swastika with SS runes and 14/88 pop up recently.
Today I cooked for the first time after a couple months of ordering food. Feels really good. My partner also really enjoyed the food so that feels double extra good.
"When Titans Clashed: How the Red Army Stopped Hitler" by David M. Glantz and Jonathan M. House
I second the recommendation, it can get exceedingly dry when you hit the full paragraphs detailing army compositions and their commanding officers, but it's a very good read for dispelling the most common Eastern Front myths. It shows the Red Army as a capable fighting force that was able to quickly adapt and learn from its mistakes, from the initial shock of invasion and early mass encirclements to pulling off stuff like Operation Bagration.

Thanks, it's actually really easy to make. I chopped up an onion, bell pepper, green chilli pepper, and two cloves of garlic, sauteed them for a couple of minutes with paprika, salt, pepper and turmeric powder, then dropped in a can of chopped tomatoes, stirred to mix, made two holes in the sauce for the eggs, covered the pan and waited a few minutes for the eggs to cook. Topped it up with chopped fresh parsley, you can also add crumbled feta on top, but I had none left in the fridge so I skipped it. Takes like 20 minutes from start to finish and tastes real good.
