Yeah Richard Dawkins original definition or concept of the word meme would more accurately describe what he's getting at but the concept is somewhere between these two.

The line between trolls for the lolz and the ones that are getting trolled sure is blurry these days.

Yeah Putin wants those massive natural gas deposits and so does Ukraine. There's not much of a deal to be made.

It's interesting to watch government officials go "swim did it".

Of course, they are a company and they are watching OpenAI flounder trying to bring their models to the masses. Why repeat a failing strategy?

Lol had to look that one up myself, it's how the author wrote it. Funny enough you said what the dictionary said. Language is an ever changing and morphing object. Any attempt to keep it static would be like trying to keep the ocean still by grasping at it with your bare hands.

Thanks, I've got tons of these saved. Just another refugee from reddit and looking to build a community here. I'll slowly share more. That said you're free to explore Vimeo yourself, there's lots of gold in those hills.

A jealous god creates a universe and places an androgynous creature that he separates into two complementary beings. In spite of the traps set by the atrabilic god, the creatures will not stop wanting to meet again.

It's an intriguing experiment. It works far better than I expected. I would have preferred a system that actually creates code on the fly. It's a bit like the Turing test part two but for reality, in this case in the very narrow experience of a desktop PC.

Terence Kemp McKenna (November 16, 1946 – April 3, 2000) was an American ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, author, and an advocate for the responsible use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants. He spoke and wrote about a variety of subjects, including psychedelic drugs, plant-based entheogens, shamanism, metaphysics, alchemy, language, philosophy, culture, technology, environmentalism, and the theoretical origins of human consciousness.

McKenna formulated a concept about the nature of time based on fractal patterns he claimed to have discovered in the I Ching, which he called novelty theory, proposing this predicted a transition of consciousness in the year 2012. His promotion of novelty theory and its connection to the Maya calendar is credited as one of the factors leading to the widespread beliefs about 2012 eschatology.

“Bakar” means “to burn.” Tension builds, emotions boil, and the relationship finally erupts like an angry volcano, with feelings so intense they scorch and melt everything in their path....more

Do they really want meritocracy or do they just want white cis christian loyalists?

He said he is concerned about folks who have focused their entire life's energy on the dislike of the president. I am equally concerned about folks who have focused their entire life's energy on the like of the president. Indeed treating stupid is difficult because they are absolutely unquestionably correct to themselves. As they say, great minds think alike but idiots rarely differ.

Personally I would prefer to ditch both political parties for a science based politics where all policies are tested or testable and the goal is the increase of the HDI, GDPPP, and decrease of the environmental impact. It really shouldn't matter which political philosophy a policy comes from if it literally works to improve the lives of the people and the wellbeing of the society, similarly if it doesn't work then let's stop doing that.

Never literally means "at no time" so it includes the past, present, and future. Maybe if they said never again or never henceforth then that would be like from this day forward.
