On the other hand I accidentally bought a $30 scratch off ticket today and won nothing

I can go online and order a large area rug with hundreds of color and pattern options and it gets shipped from China to a warehouse then to me and it costs less than breakfast ingredients for the week.

I wanted to brainstorm here, and would prefer if you have overly cynical feelings about this please just move on. Just looking for some ideas to write, even if it's just for my own sanity.

I disengaged with electoral politics, years ago like many here, but now that the election is over and liberals are feeling disillusioned, it seems like it might be a good time to really drive home the failings of this system. We already see AOC and Bernie coming out and trying to absorb angry progressives back into the Democrat base. The liberal media is going to attempt to channel this energy back into the status quo.

I have no illusions of a vanguard party forming in the next 4 years, but in term of organizing, my gut feeling is this is a good time to put some energy into our communities, especially while the heat is largely off third party voters. Most liberals I talk to understand the voting system is undemocratic and that third party wasn't even a factor this time.

I was planning on creating an outline based on some of the talking points the PSL have been using, and from their latest videos it seems they are on this vibe. I want to organize the outline on contradictions and hypocrisy, and drive home the failures.

Style guide

  1. Be normal
  2. Highlight "facts and statistics" comparing domestic and foreign policy, imply ex. "liberals are the party of facts and science so lets compare some numbers on immigration and civilian deaths overseas". I don't expect to convince anyone that the Uyghur genocide is fake that takes too long and runs counter to too many official sources. Things on wikipedia.
  3. Personal responsibility. Liberals love personal responsibility, subtly point out that Democrats constantly blame everyone else for their own failings.
  4. Nepotism and "dynasties".
  5. Reiterate that Trump is bad, and outline the horrific policies of all rehabilitated Republicans and remind them those are the people they were cheering for

It actually still amazes me every time I am like a goldfish. Just so fucking blatant this time like they just have a blinking billboard above their heads saying "we are genocidal freaks and we hate you please give us money please please please". An absolute show of the trauma bond they have with white liberals.

The fact that liberals can still feel they have a moral high ground is incredible to me. Just insane levels of contradiction.

Like legitimately, even Obama was probably more deadly and bloodthirsty than Trump across the globe. Dick Cheney, HRC, and it's not even a contest. I am afraid of Trump, but I'm fucking terrified of the Clintons, the Bushes and the Cheneys. Trump simply doesn't have the connections those ghouls have that has allowed them to destroy entire countries and kill millions of civilians.

This is why I've never given any thought to the harm reduction argument of voting for Dems. They HAVE caused more harm already.

EDIT: This stems from the frustration of talking to people irl, not online, about these contradictions. If you are going to say "we believe in facts" then let's look at the numbers. They plug their ears, they don't want to hear the real horrors or liberalism.

Between the genocide and the Cheney's. Absolutely disgusted and saddened by this world lately.

Yes I'm glad Kamala ate shit in this election, the Democrats deserve to lose forever. I am starting to lose remaining respect for people irl who still support them and it pains me because people I love have abstracted and dismissed a genocide as an "election issue".

They are going to learn their lesson and start lying during campaigns again. They will run a clinton type "progressive" democrat who will say the words that liberals can shout at us. Then if they get into office they will do what they always have.

By the numbers, objectively, Dronebama, Killery, Sleepy Joe and Kambabla have individually caused death and mass human suffering on a wider scale than Trump did in his 4 years in office. Oh yeah and Dick Cheney holy fuck. But Joe Rogan endorses Bernie and we lose our fucking minds lol. joker-dancing

I'm so fucking tired of hearing liberals I know freak out over Trump as if the dems are not also terrifying demons. Someone started in on some Russia-gate shit and I'm just asking so Russia got Trump elected by posting on facebook. Not because the dems ran a demon lady war criminal?

I voted for Stein because I want to add to the liberal meltdown over her popular vote count if Kamala loses.

0 chance the green party will ever wield power, but if they pass 5%, get federal funding and subsequently on the ballot in every state then we have a 3rd party that is at least anti-genocide.

No I don't believe there is any strategy that will move the US government left in time, but we are here and talking about this shit so that's my "tactical" vote. Green party is the compromise I guess.

I wasn't A Ware of this. I only listened to a couple of things and voted Stein just because of the 5% thing. If Claudia was on the ballot in my state I would have filled in that bubble, I basically gave it very little thought or effort.

But it's 200,000 Palestinians on one track and every politician taking AIPAC money on the other.

I think it became a lot more probable since she got her first medical bill from a minor injury, while having insurance, $900. Paying $1500 a month for an apartment with college students yelling next door and a homeless encampment in the woods next to the building, management doesn't fit anything when it breaks. Spending $100 for two people for curry and icecream. Needing to own a car to do anything.

It feels like that might be where things are heading. I do much better in the colder climates though, and it's only getting hotter, but I might get some psychic relief even if I'm sticky and pouring sweat and have a constant headache lol.

Most people who say this can't go a day without talking to at least 3 people lol. But yeah, I feel ya. It would be rough for the first few months since I am basically addicted to being online at this point.

I haven't been on this site for a while, and remember there being a lot of internal debate about leaving the US. I can't fucking take it anymore, I'm living every day full of disgust, anger, and hatred. I don't have to explain why to this audience.

I am not a doctor or scientist, I was a freelance writer until this last year and have been underemployed for months due to the cutbacks in tech and AI. I am neurodivergent. I was booted from my last two jobs for talking to union organizers (they had spies) and not pushing a pro-Israel narrative when training LLMs. I've joined orgs and protests and I'm tired. I have no faith in the western left besides just being "informed" which is literally killing me and has alienated me from all of my friends and family. I've met a few comrades through organizing but we just bitch and get each other worked up over the fact that we live in the 4th Reich.

I have some savings, no kids, no house or car payments. My partner is SE Asian, immigrated 2 years ago with a green card but is also feeling the same way about living in the US with the added cruelty of how bad immigrants and dark skinned people are treated here. Just the overall dehumanization to endure to survive.

Can I please move someplace and grow fruit trees and wait for the right moment to join the PeeEL*Ay.

So I'm fairly convinced climate change will kill most of the worlds population in the next 5 years. I used to think 2030-2050 was gonna be the tipping point, but now I believe we are well past the tipping point and living on borrowed time.

I sort of did the climate grieving process about a decade ago when every climate scientist I personally knew was talking to their friends and family about how humanity is doomed. People close to me used to treat me like I was diseased because I would drop some hints that climate change was going to collapse civilization in our lifetimes, many had children in the last few years. Now they are freaking out and grieving.

Time for cozy western life to end.

I gained a bunch of weight over the last few years and was like 20lbs overweight, now I'm at the high end or a little over for my height, and still have fat around my midsection. I quit drinking for the most part, and my diet is pretty good right now since getting on anti-depressants and not snacking all night.

I'd like to get some muscles, but I hate gyms. I've been doing calisthenics indoors a few times a week. I also have some dumbells, and will jog or hike 2 or 3 times a week.

Should I think about getting more weights or just stick with this routine for now?
