Pretty sure my local bank has been doing this for a few years now. I thought I was losing it, but apparently it's a thing.
Only thing that pisses me off (besides the obvious fact that its my bank doing this, and i dont want ads) is that I get ads for the same stuff I just bought. If your supposed to be some all knowing awesome algorithm that understands me better than I understand myself, send me ads for stuff I might actually want, but haven't bought yet. The older people I know won't get their covid shots because of the side effects. They'll get a whole bunch of other vaccines, like everyone other vaccine in the world, just not the covid vaccine. They just get knocked down, and are out of commission for a couple of days.
I try to convince them, but they haven't offically caught covid yet, although they was one suspicious time prior to lockdown where they lost taste and fully believe it was covid, but it's disconcerting thinking that if the vaccine hits so hard, what would actual covid do. Especially, when they have at least 2 risk factors for severe covid.

While the consensus is out about whether or not or attention spans are really shortening, most sources say whatever is going on, isn't permanent...yet.
