Mastodon is a viable option, but then again, this app does some basic automatic account creation from existing FB data and follow people from it. This alone will impress some non-tech journalist and praise it. We have become too lazy to get out of the burning house and save our life.
I wonder if any of that break some GPDR or California Data laws.

The database if still out there, go get it. Put it in our preferred torrent client and keep it. magnet:?xt=urn:btih:ulfihylx35oldftn7qosmk6hkhsjq5af
If only I had a phone with SD card slot.
I'm already seeing the duplicate community issue. I am a weekly reader of One Piece and currently, there are 4 communities for it on Lemmy alone. Its not helping the community come together.
This would be excellent if done right. What I am curious about is, where this will be implemented? On the protocol level in activity pub or with each GUI (mastodon, pixelfed, lemmy, kbin etc) need to individually implemented it?
Well, the people have spoken 😂
I had a good hearty laugh thanks to your comment.
Have a look at Techlore's VPN comparison matrix, they do a decent making it easy to understand and compare various VPN's
You guys outlined good enough reasons for your decision. I hope this will make things easier to work with.
I think most of the world has bought into the marketing lies of big tech, where they claim to be secure and private. Caring for their users. I was one of those people, until one day I asked a simple question, "what are these companies doing to actually protect me?" Nothing. rather I have made myself more vulnerable by being on a platform that uses my information at scale. They are doing everything to protect themselves from law suits and to keep racking in money over decades old dream of marketing based on large amount of personal data gathering. Ad money is drying up this year, high interest rate and all that. I wonder what impact that will have on these platforms.
