Wieso? Wir haben heute zwar einen Rekord an Menschen in Arbeit (46 Millionen), aber diese arbeiten im Schnitt so wenig wie nie zuvor (1.332 Stunden/Jahr). Die Arbeit wurde also massiv von „Vollzeit für Wenige“ auf „Teilzeit für Viele“ umverteilt. Was ja auch prinzipiell ganz gut ist imho. Aber: Obwohl wir heute viel mehr Erwerbstätige haben als z.B. nach der Wiedervereinigung (1991), ist die Summe aller geleisteten Arbeitsstunden fast gleich geblieben. Wir treten beim Gesamtarbeitsvolumen seit über 30 Jahren auf der Stelle. Unser Wachstum wurde bisher nur dadurch gerettet, dass wir pro Stunde immer produktiver geworden sind (Technik/Effizienz). Wenn die Boomer in Rente gehen und die verbleibenden Jüngeren weiterhin ihre Arbeitszeit reduzieren, sinkt das Gesamtarbeitsvolumen. Ohne einen massiven Sprung in der Effizienz durch Modernisierung wird es schwierig, unseren aktuellen Wohlstand allein mit „mehr Köpfen“ zu halten. Von daher kein ganz abwegiger Schluss der Politik. Und die Infrastrukturproblematik ist da noch gar nicht eingepreist.
