Wow, this all sounds so familiar to me as a Brit. This is the exact crap that diehard Brexiteers peddle, even as their food gets more expensive and they have to wait in the non EU queue in the airport. It hurts Johnny Foreigner, doesn't it? So it's worth it. Brexit is only bad because we didn't Brexit hard enough!
Gosh, yes, it's annoying. I'd be constantly getting people telling me to cheer up. Once a lady on the bus to school gave me a looooong pep talk about how I'm so pretty and if anyone picks on me it's because they're jealous, and I was like, whaaa? I can only assume I looked really sad, but I was probably just thinking about a video game or Formula 1 😅
As I got older, my resting sad face turned to resting angry face. 🤷🏽♀️
Also I have to say, strangers telling you to cheer up can just eff right off, especially when they follow it up with "it's not that bad". They can naff right off with that, how presumptive to think they know what's going on in my life.
I'm autistic, I've never done this gesture. Everyone's different, of course, but I've never seen anyone at all do this by accident. I've seen the defence that it's a "from my heart to yours" gesture, but if that was true, it would be palm up. Palm up is the giving gesture. Palm down is a saluting gesture.
Brexit was supposed to make farm workers' wages higher. The EU workers left, and crops rotted on the fields, because Brits didn't want those jobs, no matter what wages the farmers were offering. So they had to tell the EU workers they were welcome again and introduce special visas to lure them back.
Every time I walk through that car park, half the vehicles are those awful 4x4s. And I always think how nice it would be if all that tarmac was replaced with grass and wildflower beds and footpaths and cycle paths and bike stands and trees. But instead it's just a rogue's gallery of these monstrosities.
I wish there was some sort of e-cargo bike taxi service or something so that the "but how will I carry my shopping home" crowd don't have an excuse.
I don't need to. I'm a cyclist, I get it on a regular basis.
Beautiful. Looks like Reform split the right wing vote and cost her the seat. Even more beautiful!
Now I need to look up if Badenoch lost hers too.
Edit: dang.
X-creting
He started this whole crap show. Because he was scared of losing votes to UKIP, he held that dumb referendum, and that set in motion the events that led to Cruella (Johnson in power purging anyone in the party who didn't bow down to his brexit ideology). Cameron can do one, he's worse than Johnson in my eyes.

It cost me about £60 for one return rail ticket last week 😭 that's not including the tube fare to get to the station.
