Eh I enjoy playing the game at its highest level but I’m not a high level player. In a month of playing (I typically play a little every morning over coffee) I’ll have maybe 2-3 winning runs.

Best of luck in climbing the spire! Clad is my favorite character.

Yeah I’m super pumped about this game. Everything looks like a win and I’m excited to try the new Zelda mechanics of game breaking puzzle solving with older era dungeons

I've started Elden Ring, playing on my xbox one series s and it is slowww as shit and ugly to boot. I bounced off it hard at launch but am going to do my damndedest to play a Fromsoft game to completion to see what it is all about.

Also Slay the Spire. September is a month of A20 Defect runs for me. So far only 2 heart kills this month and am getting slapped in act one most runs. tough going!

The biggest element of fantasy in Stranger Things for modern audiences is not spider monsters or psychic powers but children having social lives unmanaged and unmediated by adults.

We’ve bailed on camping trips too with young ones. Camping with kids is great but the prep, packing, and then putting all the gear back afterwards adds hours of work on top of childcare. We’ve had the most successful trips when camping with another family. That way the kids can entertain each other and the parents can chill.

Slay the Spire- All of 2024 I've been playing solely with one character for a month and seeing how many A20 heartkills I get. I'm not a high level player or anything, I average like 1.5 wins per month, but I enjoy playing the game with some limits/structure.

Anyways I wrapped up June with a Defect win, with a deck that did most of its damage with dark orbs, which is unusual. Looking forward to July and good ole Ironclad.

Other things, I've been wanting to play Baldur's Gate 3 so bad I am considering buying a PS5. Excited about the library of games I've never played about to open up.

Thanks for sharing this-- the linked post articulates things I have been struggling with for a long time but a. have been afraid to share with anyone and b. gives me a framework for understanding the pattern of occurence of these intrusive thoughts.

Really thought this was going to be about Daniel Ladinsky, who wrote multiple books that pose as translations of the poetry of Hafiz, but actually if you read the forward it is merely poetry "inspired" by Hafiz, he claims Hafiz appeared to him in a dream with these poems. https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2020/6/14/fake-hafez-how-a-supreme-persian-poet-of-love-was-erased

Which was really deflating for me because those Hafiz "poems" helped get me through some angsty times in my young adulthood.
