Eh even if you want to bring your own emotional problems into a discussion like this, probably a better way is to go along the lines of "I understand how you feel, I often feel that way too. I find [this method] to be very helpful when dealing with it." bla bla, rather than turning it into a piss contest (or contunuing it if it started off like that).

Also I feel like this comic tries to speak in place of all men. I might be wrong but if indeed so, I don't feel like that all the time. Sure I do feel like that sometimes but definitely not even every month. I got my other problems, I am not problem free, but this is not it. So if this man feels like that all the time, he should probably try to have an open hearted discussion about it with someone who can understand rather than get angry about it. And if the other person makes fun of him for that, maybe he should consider his ties with that person because there are definitely people who are more understanding.

If you remove Russia, this is a strip that covers almost half of the remaining land mass. Not impressed.

this seems like a research project rather than a main line policy change:

"Just to clarify... Windows is NOT being rewritten in Rust with AI.

My team’s project is a research project. We are building tech to make migration from language to language possible."

Ofcourse the end goal remains the same: try to produce systems that can be maintained by a significantly reduced number of programmers/software engineers, which can only work if AGI was actually achieved in near future so that the senior coder gap produced by this approach can be filled by AGI coders. If not, I think we will enter an era of tech where first software engineering will first become highly undesirable (due to reduced number of entry level jobs) and then achieve a god-like status because there are not enough senior software engineers to support all the tech infrastructure build on AI coding agents which are not fully autonomous because they lack/can't learn critical reasoning skills/software experience unlike entry level coders which can.

Lobsters (probably) don't understand the concept of other animals feeling pain but we can. Lobsters don't have any other more merciful methods/tools in their disposal for survival whereas humans do this entirely because "it is more delicious that way". This is the right context.

Even the comparison "lesser of two evils" is not in the right context because it becomes more evil to the degree that you understand the other side's suffering.

I have a theory that people who do this and people who ride really loud motorbikes do so because they have not received enough attention and validation from their parents and are now seeking it elsewhere

I am completely ok with putting multiple cameras in your (Alex's) home, work place and also making all your emails and messages public. All for the sake of patriotism ofcourse nothing else. Afterall if you have nothing to hide why wouldn't you be ok with people reading your emails.
